SEEKING GOD

Mt 6:33 But seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.

7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you:
8 For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.

13:44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like to treasure hid in a field; the which when a man has found, he hides, and for joy thereof goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field.
45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like to a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Lu 12:29 And seek not you what you shall eat, or what you shall drink, neither be you of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knows that you have need of these things.
31 But rather seek you the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added to you.

Joh 5:44 How can you believe, which receive honor one of another, and seek not the honor that comes from God only?

7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

Acts 17:26 And has made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

Rom 2:6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life:

3:9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, no, not one.

10:20 But Esaias is very bold, and said, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest to them that asked not after me.

Col 3:1 If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

13:13 Let us go forth therefore to him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

Jas 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

De 4:29 But if from there you shall seek the LORD your God, you shall find him, if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.
30 When you are in tribulation, and all these things are come on you, even in the latter days, if you turn to the LORD your God, and shall be obedient to his voice;

8:12 Lest when you have eaten and are full, and have built goodly houses, and dwelled therein;
13 And when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold is multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied;
14 Then your heart be lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

1 Ch 16:10 Glory you in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
11 Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.

28:9 And you, Solomon my son, know you the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts: if you seek him, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off for ever.

2 Ch 15:1 And the Spirit of God came on Azariah the son of Oded:
2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him, Hear you me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while you be with him; and if you seek him, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.
3 Now for a long season Israel has been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.
4 But when they in their trouble did turn to the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.

16:12 And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians.

17:3 And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not to Baalim;
4 But sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.

31:20 And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and worked that which was good and right and truth before the LORD his God.
21 And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

33:9 So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.
10 And the LORD spoke to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not listen.
11 Why the LORD brought on them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.
12 And when he was in affliction, he sought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,
13 And prayed to him: and he was entreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God.

Job 5:7 Yet man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
8 I would seek to God, and to God would I commit my cause:
9 Which does great things and unsearchable; marvelous things without number:

Ps 9:10 And they that know your name will put their trust in you: for you, LORD, have not forsaken them that seek you.

14:2 The LORD looked down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that does good, no, not one.

27:8 When you said, Seek you my face; my heart said to you, Your face, LORD, will I seek.

34:4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
5 They looked to him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

34:10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

42:1 As the hart pants after the water brooks, so pants my soul after you, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?

53:1 The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that does good.
2 God looked down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.
3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that does good, no, not one.

63:1 O God, you are my God; early will I seek you: my soul thirsts for you, my flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

69:32 The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.

70:4 Let all those that seek you rejoice and be glad in you: and let such as love your salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.

77:1 I cried to God with my voice, even to God with my voice; and he gave ear to me.
2 In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.

78:32 For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works.
33 Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble.
34 When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and inquired early after God.
35 And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.

83:16 Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek your name, O LORD.

105:3 Glory you in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
4 Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face ever more.
5 Remember his marvelous works that he has done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

119:2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.
9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to your word.
10 With my whole heart have I sought you: O let me not wander from your commandments.
11 Your word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

119:58 I entreated your favor with my whole heart: be merciful to me according to your word.
59 I thought on my ways, and turned my feet to your testimonies.

143:6 I stretch forth my hands to you: my soul thirsts after you, as a thirsty land. Selah.

Pr 2:1 My son, if you will receive my words, and hide my commandments with you;
2 So that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding;
3 Yes, if you cry after knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding;
4 If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures;
5 Then shall you understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

8:17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

11:27 He that diligently seeks good procures favor: but he that seeks mischief, it shall come to him.

15:9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but he loves him that follows after righteousness.

21:21 He that follows after righteousness and mercy finds life, righteousness, and honor.

25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.

Isa 8:19 And when they shall say to you, Seek to them that have familiar spirits, and to wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek to their God? for the living to the dead?

9:11 Therefore the LORD shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together;
12 The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
13 For the people turns not to him that smites them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.

26:8 Yes, in the way of your judgments, O LORD, have we waited for you; the desire of our soul is to your name, and to the remembrance of you.
9 With my soul have I desired you in the night; yes, with my spirit within me will I seek you early: for when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

26:16 LORD, in trouble have they visited you, they poured out a prayer when your chastening was on them.

31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not to the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!

55:3 Incline your ear, and come to me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
6 Seek you the LORD while he may be found, call you on him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

65:1 I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, to a nation that was not called by my name.

Jer 2:27 Saying to a stock, You are my father; and to a stone, You have brought me forth: for they have turned their back to me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.

3:10 And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah has not turned to me with her whole heart, but feignedly, said the LORD.
11 And the LORD said to me, The backsliding Israel has justified herself more than treacherous Judah.

10:21 For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.

29:10 For thus said the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, said the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12 Then shall you call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
13 And you shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart.
14 And I will be found of you, said the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places where I have driven you, said the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place from where I caused you to be carried away captive.

Lam 3:25 The LORD is good to them that wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.

Hos 3:4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:
5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.

5:15 I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offense, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.

Am 5:4 For thus said the LORD to the house of Israel, Seek you me, and you shall live:
5 But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nothing.
6 Seek the LORD, and you shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.
14 Seek good, and not evil, that you may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as you have spoken.

Zep 2:3 Seek you the LORD, all you meek of the earth, which have worked his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be you shall be hid in the day of the LORD’s anger.

7 Even from the days of your fathers you are gone away from my ordinances, and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, said the LORD of hosts. But you said, Wherein shall we return?
