Acts
17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing
that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples
made with hands; 25 Neither is worshipped with men’s
hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he gives to all
life, and breath, and all things;
Gen 1:30 And
to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air,
and to every thing that creeps on the earth, wherein there
is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was
so.
2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of
the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of
life; and man became a living soul.
3:19 In the sweat
of your face shall you eat bread, till you return to the
ground; for out of it were you taken: for dust you are, and
to dust shall you return.
7:21 And all flesh died
that moved on the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of
beast, and of every creeping thing that creeps on the earth,
and every man: 22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of
life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
De
32:18 Of the Rock that begat you you are unmindful, and have
forgotten God that formed you.
1 Sam 2:6 The
LORD kills, and makes alive: he brings down to the grave,
and brings up.
1 Ki 17:21 And he stretched
himself on the child three times, and cried to the LORD, and
said, O LORD my God, I pray you, let this child’s soul come
into him again. 22 And the LORD heard the voice of
Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and
he revived.
Job 10:12 You have granted me life
and favor, and your visitation has preserved my spirit.
12:9 Who knows not in all these that the hand of the
LORD has worked this? 10 In whose hand is the soul of
every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
33:4 The spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the
Almighty has given me life.
34:14 If he set his heart
on man, if he gather to himself his spirit and his breath;
15 All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again
to dust.
Isa 42:5 Thus said God the LORD, he
that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that
spread forth the earth, and that which comes out of it; he
that gives breath to the people on it, and spirit to them
that walk therein:
Calling upon the Lord
Acts 9:13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard
by many of this man, how much evil he has done to your
saints at Jerusalem: 14 And here he has authority from
the chief priests to bind all that call on your name. 15
But the Lord said to him, Go your way: for he is a chosen
vessel to me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and
kings, and the children of Israel: 16 For I will show him
how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.
9:20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues,
that he is the Son of God. 21 But all that heard him were
amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which
called on this name in Jerusalem, and came here for that
intent, that he might bring them bound to the chief priests?
22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded
the Jews which dwelled at Damascus, proving that this is
very Christ.
Rom 10:12 For there is no
difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord
over all is rich to all that call on him. 13 For whoever
shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How
then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?
and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not
heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
1 Cor 1:2 To the church of God which is at Corinth,
to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be
saints, with all that in every place call on the name of
Jesus Christ our Lord, both their’s and our’s:
2
Tim 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow
righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on
the Lord out of a pure heart.
Gen 4:26 And to
Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his
name Enos: then began men to call on the name of the LORD.
21:33 And Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba, and
called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God.
Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whoever
shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for
in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the
LORD has said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
Angel of the Lord
Gen
16:7 And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of
water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.
10 And the angel of the LORD said to her, I will multiply
your seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for
multitude. 11 And the angel of the LORD said to her,
Behold, you are with child and shall bear a son, and shall
call his name Ishmael; because the LORD has heard your
affliction. 12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will
be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and
he shall dwell in the presence of all his brothers. 13
And she called the name of the LORD that spoke to her, You
God see me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him
that sees me?
21:17 And God heard the voice of the
lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and
said to her, What ails you, Hagar? fear not; for God has
heard the voice of the lad where he is. 18 Arise, lift up
the lad, and hold him in your hand; for I will make him a
great nation.
22:1 And it came to pass after these
things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said to him,
Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. 15 And the angel
of the LORD called to Abraham out of heaven the second time,
16 And said, By myself have I sworn, said the LORD, for
because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your
son, your only son: 17 That in blessing I will bless you,
and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of
the heaven, and as the sand which is on the sea shore; and
your seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; 18 And
in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
because you have obeyed my voice.
31:11 And the angel
of God spoke to me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said,
Here am I. 12 And he said, Lift up now your eyes, and
see, all the rams which leap on the cattle are ringstraked,
speckled, and spotted: for I have seen all that Laban does
to you. 13 I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed the
pillar, and where you vowed a vow to me: now arise, get you
out from this land, and return to the land of your kindred.
Ex 3:1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his
father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to
the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God,
even to Horeb. 2 And the angel of the LORD appeared to
him in a flame of fire out of the middle of a bush: and he
looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush
was not consumed. 3 And Moses said, I will now turn
aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God
called to him out of the middle of the bush, and said,
Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. 5 And he said, Draw
not near here: put off your shoes from off your feet, for
the place where on you stand is holy ground. 6 Moreover
he said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his
face; for he was afraid to look on God. 14 And God said
to Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shall you say to
the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you. 15 And
God said moreover to Moses, Thus shall you say to the
children of Israel, the LORD God of your fathers, the God of
Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me
to you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial to
all generations.
23:20 Behold, I send an Angel before
you, to keep you in the way, and to bring you into the place
which I have prepared. 21 Beware of him, and obey his
voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your
transgressions: for my name is in him.
Jos
5:13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that
he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a
man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and
Joshua went to him, and said to him, Are you for us, or for
our adversaries? 14 And he said, No; but as captain of
the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his
face to the earth, and did worship, and said to him, What
said my Lord to his servant? 15 And the captain of the
LORD’s host said to Joshua, Loose your shoe from off your
foot; for the place where on you stand is holy. And Joshua
did so.
Judges 2:1 And an angel of the LORD
came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up
out of Egypt, and have brought you to the land which I swore
to your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant
with you.
6:11 And there came an angel of the LORD,
and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained to
Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by
the wine press, to hide it from the Midianites. 12 And
the angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, The
LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor. 13 And Gideon
said to him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is
all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which
our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up
from Egypt? but now the LORD has forsaken us, and delivered
us into the hands of the Midianites. 14 And the LORD
looked on him, and said, Go in this your might, and you
shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not
I sent you? 15 And he said to him, Oh my Lord, with which
shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh,
and I am the least in my father’s house. 16 And the LORD
said to him, Surely I will be with you, and you shall smite
the Midianites as one man.
13:16 And the angel of the
LORD said to Manoah, Though you detain me, I will not eat of
your bread: and if you will offer a burnt offering, you must
offer it to the LORD. For Manoah knew not that he was an
angel of the LORD. 17 And Manoah said to the angel of the
LORD, What is your name, that when your sayings come to pass
we may do you honor? 18 And the angel of the LORD said to
him, Why ask you thus after my name, seeing it is secret?
19 So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it
on a rock to the LORD: and the angel did wondrously; and
Manoah and his wife looked on. 20 For it came to pass,
when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar,
that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the
altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on
their faces to the ground. 21 But the angel of the LORD
did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah
knew that he was an angel of the LORD. 22 And Manoah said
to his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.
Isa 63:9 In all their affliction he was
afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his
love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them, and
carried them all the days of old.
God Created Everything
Mt 19:4
And he answered and said to them, Have you not read, that he
which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
Mr 13:19 For in those days shall be affliction,
such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God
created to this time, neither shall be.
Joh
1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any
thing made that was made. 10 He was in the world, and the
world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
Acts 4:24 And when they heard that, they lifted up
their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, you are
God, which have made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all
that in them is:
7:48 However, the most High dwells
not in temples made with hands; as said the prophet, 49
Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house
will you build me? said the Lord: or what is the place of my
rest? 50 Has not my hand made all these things?
14:13 Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their
city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and would have
done sacrifice with the people. 14 Which when the
apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their
clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, 15 And
saying, Sirs, why do you these things? We also are men of
like passions with you, and preach to you that you should
turn from these vanities to the living God, which made
heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are
therein:
17:22 Then Paul stood in the middle of Mars’
hill, and said, You men of Athens, I perceive that in all
things you are too superstitious. 23 For as I passed by,
and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this
inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore you
ignorantly worship, him declare I to you. 24 God that
made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is
Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples made with
hands; 25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as
though he needed any thing, seeing he gives to all life, and
breath, and all things; 26 And has made of one blood all
nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth,
and has determined the times before appointed, and the
bounds of their habitation; 27 That they should seek the
Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him,
though he be not far from every one of us:
Rom
1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against
all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the
truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be
known of God is manifest in them; for God has showed it to
them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the
creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by
the things that are made, even his eternal power and
Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because
that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God,
neither were thankful; but became vain in their
imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23
And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image
made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed
beasts, and creeping things. 24 Why God also gave them up
to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to
dishonor their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who
changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and
served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed
for ever. Amen.
8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither
death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers,
nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height,
nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate
us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
9:20 No but, O man, who are you that reply against God?
Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why have
you made me thus? 21 Has not the potter power over the
clay, of the same lump to make one vessel to honor, and
another to dishonor?
1 Cor 8:5 For though
there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in
earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) 6 But to
us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things,
and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all
things, and we by him.
11:8 For the man is not of the
woman: but the woman of the man. 9 Neither was the man
created for the woman; but the woman for the man. 10 For
this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because
of the angels.
Eph 3:8 To me, who am less than
the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should
preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the
mystery, which from the beginning of the world has been hid
in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: 10 To the
intent that now to the principalities and powers in heavenly
places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of
God,
Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption
through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who
is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every
creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are
in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible,
whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or
powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17
And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that you have put off
the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new
man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him
that created him:
1 Tim 2:13 For Adam was
first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but
the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from
meats, which God has created to be received with
thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be
refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
Heb
1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in
time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 Has in these
last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed
heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in
his sight: but all things are naked and opened to the eyes
of him with whom we have to do.
11:3 Through faith we
understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God,
so that things which are seen were not made of things which
do appear.
12:27 And this word, Yet once more,
signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as
of things that are made, that those things which cannot be
shaken may remain.
Jas 1:18 Of his own will
begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind
of first fruits of his creatures.
1 Pe 4:18
And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the
ungodly and the sinner appear? 19 Why let them that
suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of
their souls to him in well doing, as to a faithful Creator.
2 Pe 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall
come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own
lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming?
for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as
they were from the beginning of the creation. 5 For this
they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the
heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water
and in the water: 6 Whereby the world that then was,
being overflowed with water, perished:
Rev
4:11 You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and
power: for you have created all things, and for your
pleasure they are and were created.
10:5 And the
angel which I saw stand on the sea and on the earth lifted
up his hand to heaven, 6 And swore by him that lives for
ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that
therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are,
and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there
should be time no longer:
14:7 Saying with a loud
voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his
judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and
earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the
earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and
darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God
moved on the face of the waters. 11 And God said, Let the
earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the
fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in
itself, on the earth: and it was so. 12 And the earth
brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind,
and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after
his kind: and God saw that it was good. 14 And God said,
Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide
the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for
seasons, and for days, and years: 15 And let them be for
lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light on the
earth: and it was so. 16 And God made two great lights;
the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to
rule the night: he made the stars also. 17 And God set
them in the firmament of the heaven to give light on the
earth, 18 And to rule over the day and over the night,
and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that
it was good. 20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth
abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that
may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21 And God created great whales, and every living creature
that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after
their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God
saw that it was good. 24 And God said, Let the earth
bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and
creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and
it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth after
his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that
creeps on the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was
good. 31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and,
behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning
were the sixth day.
5:1 This is the book of the
generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the
likeness of God made he him; 2 Male and female created he
them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the
day when they were created.
De 4:31 (For the
LORD your God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake you,
neither destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers
which he swore to them. 32 For ask now of the days that
are past, which were before you, since the day that God
created man on the earth, and ask from the one side of
heaven to the other, whether there has been any such thing
as this great thing is, or has been heard like it?
2 Ki 19:15 And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and
said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwell between the
cherubim, you are the God, even you alone, of all the
kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth.
Neh 9:6 You, even you, are LORD alone; you have
made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the
earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all
that is therein, and you preserve them all; and the host of
heaven worships you.
Job 9:1 Then Job answered
and said, 2 I know it is so of a truth: but how should
man be just with God? 9 Which makes Arcturus, Orion, and
Pleiades, and the chambers of the south. 10 Which does
great things past finding out; yes, and wonders without
number.
38:4 Where were you when I laid the
foundations of the earth? declare, if you have
understanding.
40:15 Behold now behemoth, which I
made with you; he eats grass as an ox.
Ps 8:3
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the
moon and the stars, which you have ordained; 4 What is
man, that you are mindful of him? and the son of man, that
you visit him?
33:6 By the word of the LORD were the
heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his
mouth.
74:16 The day is yours, the night also is
yours: you have prepared the light and the sun. 17 You
have set all the borders of the earth: you have made summer
and winter.
90:1 Lord, you have been our dwelling
place in all generations. 2 Before the mountains were
brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the
world, even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.
95:3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above
all gods. 4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth:
the strength of the hills is his also. 5 The sea is his,
and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. 6 O
come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the
LORD our maker.
102:25 Of old have you laid the
foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of
your hands.
104:19 He appointed the moon for seasons:
the sun knows his going down.
115:15 You are blessed
of the LORD which made heaven and earth. 16 The heaven,
even the heavens, are the LORD’s: but the earth has he given
to the children of men.
119:90 Your faithfulness is
to all generations: you have established the earth, and it
stays. 91 They continue this day according to your
ordinances: for all are your servants.
124:8 Our help
is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
136:3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy
endures for ever. 4 To him who alone does great wonders:
for his mercy endures for ever. 5 To him that by wisdom
made the heavens: for his mercy endures for ever. 6 To
him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his
mercy endures for ever. 7 To him that made great lights:
for his mercy endures for ever: 8 The sun to rule by day:
for his mercy endures for ever: 9 The moon and stars to
rule by night: for his mercy endures for ever.
139:13
For you have possessed my reins: you have covered me in my
mother’s womb. 14 I will praise you; for I am fearfully
and wonderfully made: marvelous are your works; and that my
soul knows right well. 15 My substance was not hid from
you, when I was made in secret, and curiously worked in the
lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes did see my
substance, yet being imperfect; and in your book all my
members were written, which in continuance were fashioned,
when as yet there was none of them.
148:3 Praise you
him, sun and moon: praise him, all you stars of light. 4
Praise him, you heavens of heavens, and you waters that be
above the heavens. 5 Let them praise the name of the
LORD: for he commanded, and they were created. 6 He has
also established them for ever and ever: he has made a
decree which shall not pass.
Pr 3:19 The LORD
by wisdom has founded the earth; by understanding has he
established the heavens. 20 By his knowledge the depths
are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.
20:12 The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD has made
even both of them.
Isa 29:15 Woe to them that
seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their
works are in the dark, and they say, Who sees us? and who
knows us? 16 Surely your turning of things upside down
shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work
say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing
framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?
40:28 Have you not known? have you not heard, that the
everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the
earth, faints not, neither is weary? there is no searching
of his understanding.
44:24 Thus said the LORD, your
redeemer, and he that formed you from the womb, I am the
LORD that makes all things; that stretches forth the heavens
alone; that spreads abroad the earth by myself;
45:5
I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God
beside me: I girded you, though you have not known me: 6
That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the
west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there
is none else. 7 I form the light, and create darkness: I
make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
9 Woe to him that strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd
strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say
to him that fashions it, What make you? or your work, He has
no hands? 12 I have made the earth, and created man on
it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and
all their host have I commanded.
45:18 For thus said
the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed
the earth and made it; he has established it, he created it
not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD;
and there is none else.
48:12 Listen to me, O Jacob
and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am
the last. 13 My hand also has laid the foundation of the
earth, and my right hand has spanned the heavens: when I
call to them, they stand up together.
64:8 But now, O
LORD, you are our father; we are the clay, and you our
potter; and we all are the work of your hand.
65:17
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the
former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. 18
But be you glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create:
for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people
a joy.
66:1 Thus said the LORD, The heaven is my
throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house
that you build to me? and where is the place of my rest?
2 For all those things has my hand made, and all those
things have been, said the LORD: but to this man will I
look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and
trembles at my word.
Jer 10:10 But the LORD is
the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king:
at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall
not be able to abide his indignation. 11 Thus shall you
say to them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the
earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under
these heavens. 12 He has made the earth by his power, he
has established the world by his wisdom, and has stretched
out the heavens by his discretion.
51:15 He has made
the earth by his power, he has established the world by his
wisdom, and has stretched out the heaven by his
understanding. 19 The portion of Jacob is not like them;
for he is the former of all things: and Israel is the rod of
his inheritance: the LORD of hosts is his name.
Titles of God
Mt 26:63 But
Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said
to him, I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us
whether you be the Christ, the Son of God. 64 Jesus said
to him, You have said: nevertheless I say to you, Hereafter
shall you see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of
power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
Mr
14:60 And the high priest stood up in the middle, and asked
Jesus, saying, Answer you nothing? what is it which these
witness against you? 61 But he held his peace, and
answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said
to him, Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? 62
And Jesus said, I am: and you shall see the Son of man
sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds
of heaven.
Lu 1:46 And Mary said, My soul does
magnify the Lord, 47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my
Savior. 48 For he has regarded the low estate of his
handmaiden: for, behold, from now on all generations shall
call me blessed. 49 For he that is mighty has done to me
great things; and holy is his name.
6:35 But love you
your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing
again; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the
children of the Highest: for he is kind to the unthankful
and to the evil. 36 Be you therefore merciful, as your
Father also is merciful.
Joh 17:11 And now I
am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I
come to you. Holy Father, keep through your own name those
whom you have given me, that they may be one, as we are.
Acts 3:13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and
of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son
Jesus; whom you delivered up, and denied him in the presence
of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.
2
Cor 6:17 Why come out from among them, and be you
separate, said the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing;
and I will receive you. 18 And will be a Father to you,
and you shall be my sons and daughters, said the Lord
Almighty.
Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of
his glory, and the express image of his person, and
upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had
by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of
the Majesty on high:
8:1 Now of the things which we
have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest,
who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in
the heavens;
12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of
our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence:
shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of
spirits, and live?
Gen 14:18 And Melchizedek
king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the
priest of the most high God. 19 And he blessed him, and
said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of
heaven and earth: 20 And blessed be the most high God,
which has delivered your enemies into your hand. And he gave
him tithes of all. 21 And the king of Sodom said to
Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to yourself.
22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up my
hand to the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven
and earth,
17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old
and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said to him, I am
the Almighty God; walk before me, and be you perfect.
33:18 And Jacob came to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which
is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Padanaram; and
pitched his tent before the city. 19 And he bought a
parcel of a field, where he had spread his tent, at the hand
of the children of Hamor, Shechem’s father, for an hundred
pieces of money. 20 And he erected there an altar, and
called it EleloheIsrael.
49:24 But his bow stayed in
strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the
hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from there is the
shepherd, the stone of Israel:) 25 Even by the God of
your father, who shall help you; and by the Almighty, who
shall bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of
the deep that lies under, blessings of the breasts, and of
the womb:
Ex 3:13 And Moses said to God,
Behold, when I come to the children of Israel, and shall say
to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you; and
they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say to
them? 14 And God said to Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he
said, Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, I AM has
sent me to you. 15 And God said moreover to Moses, Thus
shall you say to the children of Israel, the LORD God of
your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the
God of Jacob, has sent me to you: this is my name for ever,
and this is my memorial to all generations. 16 Go, and
gather the elders of Israel together, and say to them, The
LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and
of Jacob, appeared to me, saying, I have surely visited you,
and seen that which is done to you in Egypt:
6:2 And
God spoke to Moses, and said to him, I am the LORD: 3 And
I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, by the name
of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to
them.
15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his
name.
34:14 For you shall worship no other god: for
the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
Num 24:15 And he took up his parable, and said,
Balaam the son of Beor has said, and the man whose eyes are
open has said: 16 He has said, which heard the words of
God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the
vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having
his eyes open: 17 I shall see him, but not now: I shall
behold him, but not near: there shall come a Star out of
Jacob, and a Scepter shall rise out of Israel, and shall
smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of
Sheth.
1 Sam 17:45 Then said David to the
Philistine, You come to me with a sword, and with a spear,
and with a shield: but I come to you in the name of the LORD
of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have
defied.
1 Ch 17:24 Let it even be established,
that your name may be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD
of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let
the house of David your servant be established before you.
Ezr 7:23 Whatever is commanded by the God of
heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God
of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm
of the king and his sons?
Job 6:10 Then should
I yet have comfort; yes, I would harden myself in sorrow:
let him not spare; for I have not concealed the words of the
Holy One.
27:10 Will he delight himself in the
Almighty? will he always call on God? 11 I will teach you
by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I
not conceal.
35:9 By reason of the multitude of
oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by
reason of the arm of the mighty. 10 But none said, Where
is God my maker, who gives songs in the night;
Ps
9:1 I will praise you, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will
show forth all your marvelous works. 2 I will be glad and
rejoice in you: I will sing praise to your name, O you most
High.
18:13 The LORD also thundered in the heavens,
and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of
fire.
20:1 The LORD hear you in the day of trouble;
the name of the God of Jacob defend you;
24:7 Lift up
your heads, O you gates; and be you lift up, you everlasting
doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 8 Who is this
King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty
in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, O you gates; even lift
them up, you everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall
come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts,
he is the King of glory. Selah.
29:2 Give to the LORD
the glory due to his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of
holiness. 3 The voice of the LORD is on the waters: the
God of glory thunders: the LORD is on many waters.
41:13 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting,
and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
46:11 The LORD of
hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
47:7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing you
praises with understanding. 8 God reigns over the
heathen: God sits on the throne of his holiness. 9 The
princes of the people are gathered together, even the people
of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong
to God: he is greatly exalted.
68:4 Sing to God, sing
praises to his name: extol him that rides on the heavens by
his name JAH, and rejoice before him.
71:22 I will
also praise you with the psaltery, even your truth, O my
God: to you will I sing with the harp, O you Holy One of
Israel.
76:6 At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the
chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep. 11 Vow, and
pay to the LORD your God: let all that be round about him
bring presents to him that ought to be feared. 12 He
shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the
kings of the earth.
80:1 Give ear, O Shepherd of
Israel, you that lead Joseph like a flock; you that dwell
between the cherubim, shine forth.
91:1 He that
dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide
under the shadow of the Almighty.
95:6 O come, let us
worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our
maker.
106:19 They made a calf in Horeb, and
worshipped the molten image. 20 Thus they changed their
glory into the similitude of an ox that eats grass. 21
They forgot God their savior, which had done great things in
Egypt; 48 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from
everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say,
Amen. Praise you the LORD.
132:1 Lord, remember
David, and all his afflictions: 2 How he swore to the
LORD, and vowed to the mighty God of Jacob; 3 Surely I
will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up
into my bed; 4 I will not give sleep to my eyes, or
slumber to my eyelids, 5 Until I find out a place for the
LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.
Pr 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the
righteous runs into it, and is safe.
Ec 12:11
The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by
the masters of assemblies, which are given from one
shepherd.
Isa 1:24 Therefore said the LORD,
the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease
me of my adversaries, and avenge me of my enemies:
10:34 And he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with
iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.
17:7 At
that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall
have respect to the Holy One of Israel.
29:19 The
meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor
among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. 23 But
when he sees his children, the work of my hands, in the
middle of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the
Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.
41:21 Produce your cause, said the LORD; bring forth your
strong reasons, said the King of Jacob.
42:8 I am the
LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to
another, neither my praise to graven images.
43:14
Thus said the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel;
For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down
all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the
ships. 15 I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of
Israel, your King.
44:6 Thus said the LORD the King
of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the
first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
45:15 Truly you are a God that hide yourself, O God of
Israel, the Savior.
47:4 As for our redeemer, the
LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.
49:26 And I will feed them that oppress you with their own
flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as
with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am
your Savior and your Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
54:5 For your Maker is your husband; the LORD of hosts
is his name; and your Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The
God of the whole earth shall he be called.
57:15 For
thus said the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity,
whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with
him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive
the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the
contrite ones.
63:16 Doubtless you are our father,
though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us
not: you, O LORD, are our father, our redeemer; your name is
from everlasting.
Jer 10:16 The portion of
Jacob is not like them: for he is the former of all things;
and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The LORD of hosts
is his name.
14:8 O the hope of Israel, the savior
thereof in time of trouble, why should you be as a stranger
in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turns aside to
tarry for a night?
Dan 4:24 This is the
interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most
High, which is come on my lord the king: 25 That they
shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with
the beasts of the field, and they shall make you to eat
grass as oxen, and they shall wet you with the dew of
heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, till you know
that the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it
to whomsoever he will.
4:36 At the same time my
reason returned to me; and for the glory of my kingdom, my
honor and brightness returned to me; and my counsellors and
my lords sought to me; and I was established in my kingdom,
and excellent majesty was added to me. 37 Now I
Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honor the King of
heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment:
and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
5:18 O you king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar your
father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honor: 22
And you his son, O Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart,
though you knew all this; 23 But have lifted up yourself
against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the
vessels of his house before you, and you, and your lords,
your wives, and your concubines, have drunk wine in them;
and you have praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass,
iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know:
and the God in whose hand your breath is, and whose are all
your ways, have you not glorified:
6:20 And when he
came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice to Daniel:
and the king spoke and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of
the living God, is your God, whom you serve continually,
able to deliver you from the lions?
7:9 I beheld till
the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit,
whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head
like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and
his wheels as burning fire. 10 A fiery stream issued and
came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered to
him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him:
the judgment was set, and the books were opened. 13 I saw
in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man
came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of
days, and they brought him near before him. 22 Until the
Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints
of the most High; and the time came that the saints
possessed the kingdom.
8:11 Yes, he magnified himself
even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily
sacrifice was taken away, and the place of the sanctuary was
cast down. 25 And through his policy also he shall cause
craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself
in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also
stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be
broken without hand.
11:36 And the king shall do
according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and
magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous
things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the
indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined
shall be done.
Hos 11:9 I will not execute the
fierceness of my anger, I will not return to destroy
Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the
middle of you: and I will not enter into the city.
Mic 6:6 With which shall I come before the LORD, and
bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with
burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?
Zec
14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that
day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. 16 And it
shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the
nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from
year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to
keep the feast of tabernacles.
Mal 2:10 Have
we not all one father? has not one God created us? why do we
deal treacherously every man against his brother, by
profaning the covenant of our fathers?
Seeing God
Joh 1:18 No
man has seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which
is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.
5:37 And the Father himself, which has sent me, has borne
witness of me. You have neither heard his voice at any time,
nor seen his shape. 38 And you have not his word abiding
in you: for whom he has sent, him you believe not.
6:46 Not that any man has seen the Father, save he which is
of God, he has seen the Father.
1 Tim 6:15
Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and
only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 16
Who only has immortality, dwelling in the light which no man
can approach to; whom no man has seen, nor can see: to whom
be honor and power everlasting. Amen.
1 Joh
4:12 No man has seen God at any time. If we love one
another, God dwells in us, and his love is perfected in us.
Gen 32:24 And Jacob was left alone; and there
wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. 25
And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he
touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s
thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. 26 And
he said, Let me go, for the day breaks. And he said, I will
not let you go, except you bless me. 27 And he said to
him, What is your name? And he said, Jacob. 28 And he
said, Your name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel:
for as a prince have you power with God and with men, and
have prevailed. 29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell
me, I pray you, your name. And he said, Why is it that you
do ask after my name? And he blessed him there. 30 And
Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen
God face to face, and my life is preserved.
Ex
24:1 And he said to Moses, Come up to the LORD, you, and
Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of
Israel; and worship you afar off. 2 And Moses alone shall
come near the LORD: but they shall not come near; neither
shall the people go up with him. 3 And Moses came and
told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the
judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and
said, All the words which the LORD has said will we do. 9
Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy
of the elders of Israel: 10 And they saw the God of
Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work
of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in
his clearness. 11 And on the nobles of the children of
Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat
and drink. 12 And the LORD said to Moses, Come up to me
into the mount, and be there: and I will give you tables of
stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written;
that you may teach them. 13 And Moses rose up, and his
minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God.
14 And he said to the elders, Tarry you here for us, until
we come again to you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with
you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come to
them. 15 And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud
covered the mount. 16 And the glory of the LORD stayed on
mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the
seventh day he called to Moses out of the middle of the
cloud. 17 And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like
devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the
children of Israel. 18 And Moses went into the middle of
the cloud, and got him up into the mount: and Moses was in
the mount forty days and forty nights.
33:11 And the
LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his
friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant
Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the
tabernacle. 12 And Moses said to the LORD, See, you say
to me, Bring up this people: and you have not let me know
whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, I know you by
name, and you have also found grace in my sight. 13 Now
therefore, I pray you, if I have found grace in your sight,
show me now your way, that I may know you, that I may find
grace in your sight: and consider that this nation is your
people. 14 And he said, My presence shall go with you,
and I will give you rest. 15 And he said to him, If your
presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. 16 For
wherein shall it be known here that I and your people have
found grace in your sight? is it not in that you go with us?
so shall we be separated, I and your people, from all the
people that are on the face of the earth. 17 And the LORD
said to Moses, I will do this thing also that you have
spoken: for you have found grace in my sight, and I know you
by name. 18 And he said, I beseech you, show me your
glory. 19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass
before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before
you; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and
will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. 20 And he
said, You can not see my face: for there shall no man see
me, and live. 21 And the LORD said, Behold, there is a
place by me, and you shall stand on a rock: 22 And it
shall come to pass, while my glory passes by, that I will
put you in a cleft of the rock, and will cover you with my
hand while I pass by: 23 And I will take away my hand,
and you shall see my back parts: but my face shall not be
seen.
Num 12:6 And he said, Hear now my words:
If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself
known to him in a vision, and will speak to him in a dream.
7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all my
house. 8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even
apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of
the LORD shall he behold: why then were you not afraid to
speak against my servant Moses?
De 4:12 And
the LORD spoke to you out of the middle of the fire: you
heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only
you heard a voice. 13 And he declared to you his
covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten
commandments; and he wrote them on two tables of stone.
5:22 These words the LORD spoke to all your assembly in
the mount out of the middle of the fire, of the cloud, and
of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no
more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and
delivered them to me. 23 And it came to pass, when you
heard the voice out of the middle of the darkness, (for the
mountain did burn with fire,) that you came near to me, even
all the heads of your tribes, and your elders; 24 And you
said, Behold, the LORD our God has showed us his glory and
his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the middle
of the fire: we have seen this day that God does talk with
man, and he lives. 25 Now therefore why should we die?
for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of
the LORD our God any more, then we shall die. 26 For who
is there of all flesh, that has heard the voice of the
living God speaking out of the middle of the fire, as we
have, and lived?
The Essence of God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Mt 3:16 And Jesus, when he was
baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, see,
the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God
descending like a dove, and lighting on him: 17 And see a
voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I
am well pleased.
28:19 Go you therefore, and teach
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Lu 3:21 Now
when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that
Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was
opened, 22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape
like a dove on him, and a voice came from heaven, which
said, You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased.
23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age,
being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son
of Heli,
Joh 4:23 But the hour comes, and now
is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in
spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship
him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must
worship him in spirit and in truth.
10:29 My Father,
which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able
to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father
are one.
14:8 Philip said to him, Lord, show us the
Father, and it suffises us. 9 Jesus said to him, Have I
been so long time with you, and yet have you not known me,
Philip? he that has seen me has seen the Father; and how say
you then, Show us the Father? 10 Believe you not that I
am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I
speak to you I speak not of myself: but the Father that
dwells in me, he does the works. 11 Believe me that I am
in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for
the very works’ sake.
14:16 And I will pray the
Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may
abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth;
whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not,
neither knows him: but you know him; for he dwells with you,
and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless:
I will come to you. 20 At that day you shall know that I
am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 26 But the
Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will
send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring
all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you.
15:23 He that hates me hates my Father also. 24 If I
had not done among them the works which none other man did,
they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated
both me and my Father. 25 But this comes to pass, that
the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law,
They hated me without a cause. 26 But when the Comforter
is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, even the
Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, he shall
testify of me:
Acts 7:55 But he, being full of
the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw
the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of
God, 56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and
the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
Rom 8:9 But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit,
if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man
have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
1 Cor 2:10 But God has revealed them to us by his
Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep
things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man,
save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things
of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we
have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit
which is of God; that we might know the things that are
freely given to us of God.
3:16 Know you not that you
are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in
you?
6:19 What? know you not that your body is the
temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of
God, and you are not your own?
12:3 Why I give you to
understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calls
Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the
Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. 4 Now there are diversities
of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are
differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And
there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God
which works all in all.
2 Cor 3:16
Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall
be taken away. 17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where
the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we
all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the
Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory,
even as by the Spirit of the LORD.
13:14 The grace of
the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the
communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
Gal 4:6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth
the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba,
Father.
Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one
Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father
of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
2 Th 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks always
to God for you, brothers beloved of the Lord, because God
has from the beginning chosen you to salvation through
sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14
Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of
the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Tit 3:4
But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior
toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness
which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us,
by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy
Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus
Christ our Savior;
Heb 8:1 Now of the things
which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high
priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the
Majesty in the heavens;
1 Pe 1:2 Elect
according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through
sanctification of the Spirit, to obedience and sprinkling of
the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you, and peace, be
multiplied.
Jude 1:20 But you, beloved,
building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in
the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God,
looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal
life.
Rev 1:4 John to the seven churches which
are in Asia: Grace be to you, and peace, from him which is,
and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven
Spirits which are before his throne; 5 And from Jesus
Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten
of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. To
him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own
blood,
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man
in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and
over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every
creeping thing that creeps on the earth. 27 So God
created man in his own image, in the image of God created he
him; male and female created he them.
3:22 And the
LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to
know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and
take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of
Eden, to till the ground from from where he was taken.
11:1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one
speech. 6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one,
and they have all one language; and this they begin to do:
and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they
have imagined to do. 7 Go to, let us go down, and there
confound their language, that they may not understand one
another’s speech.
Ex 6:2 And God spoke to
Moses, and said to him, I am the LORD: 3 And I appeared
to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, by the name of God
Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
De 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one
LORD: 5 And you shall love the LORD your God with all
your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
6 And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in
your heart:
Isa 6:8 Also I heard the voice of
the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?
Then said I, Here am I; send me.
48:13 My hand also
has laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand has
spanned the heavens: when I call to them, they stand up
together. 16 Come you near to me, hear you this; I have
not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that
it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit,
has sent me.
The Greatness of God
Mt
19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said to them, With men this
is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Lu 1:36 And, behold, your cousin Elisabeth, she has
also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth
month with her, who was called barren. 37 For with God
nothing shall be impossible.
Acts 17:22 Then
Paul stood in the middle of Mars’ hill, and said, You men of
Athens, I perceive that in all things you are too
superstitious. 23 For as I passed by, and beheld your
devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE
UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore you ignorantly worship, him
declare I to you. 24 God that made the world and all
things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth,
dwells not in temples made with hands; 25 Neither is
worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing,
seeing he gives to all life, and breath, and all things;
26 And has made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell
on all the face of the earth, and has determined the times
before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27
That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel
after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one
of us: 28 For in him we live, and move, and have our
being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we
are also his offspring. 29 For as much then as we are the
offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is
like to gold, or silver, or stone, graven by are and man’s
device. 30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at;
but now commands all men every where to repent: 31
Because he has appointed a day, in the which he will judge
the world in righteousness by that man whom he has ordained;
whereof he has given assurance to all men, in that he has
raised him from the dead. 32 And when they heard of the
resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We
will hear you again of this matter.
Rom 1:19
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them;
for God has showed it to them. 20 For the invisible
things of him from the creation of the world are clearly
seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his
eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not
as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their
imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23
And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image
made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed
beasts, and creeping things.
11:33 O the depth of the
riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how
unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding
out! 34 For who has known the mind of the Lord? or who
has been his counselor? 35 Or who has first given to him,
and it shall be recompensed to him again? 36 For of him,
and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be
glory for ever. Amen.
16:27 To God only wise, be
glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.
Eph
3:20 Now to him that is able to do exceeding abundantly
above all that we ask or think, according to the power that
works in us, 21 To him be glory in the church by Christ
Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
1 Tim 1:17 Now to the King eternal, immortal,
invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever
and ever. Amen.
6:15 Which in his times he shall
show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of
kings, and Lord of lords; 16 Who only has immortality,
dwelling in the light which no man can approach to; whom no
man has seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power
everlasting. Amen.
Jas 1:17 Every good gift
and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from
the Father of lights, with whom is no ficklenss, neither
shadow of turning.
Rev 1:5 And from Jesus
Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten
of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. To
him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own
blood,
17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and
the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and
King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and
chosen, and faithful.
Gen 17:1 And when Abram
was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram,
and said to him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and
be you perfect.
18:14 Is any thing too hard for the
LORD? At the time appointed I will return to you, according
to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
Num 11:23 And the LORD said to Moses, Is the LORD’s hand
waxed short? you shall see now whether my word shall come to
pass to you or not.
De 32:8 When the Most High
divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated
the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according
to the number of the children of Israel.
1 Sam
2:6 The LORD kills, and makes alive: he brings down to the
grave, and brings up. 7 The LORD makes poor, and makes
rich: he brings low, and lifts up. 8 He raises up the
poor out of the dust, and lifts up the beggar from the
dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them
inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth
are the LORD’s, and he has set the world on them.
1 Ch 29:11 Yours, O LORD is the greatness, and the
power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for
all that is in the heaven and in the earth is yours; your is
the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all.
12 Both riches and honor come of you, and you reign over
all; and in your hand is power and might; and in your hand
it is to make great, and to give strength to all. 13 Now
therefore, our God, we thank you, and praise your glorious
name. 14 But who am I, and what is my people, that we
should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for
all things come of you, and of your own have we given you.
Job 5:8 I would seek to God, and to God would I
commit my cause: 9 Which does great things and
unsearchable; marvelous things without number: 10 Who
gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields:
11 To set up on high those that be low; that those which
mourn may be exalted to safety.
9:1 Then Job answered
and said, 2 I know it is so of a truth: but how should
man be just with God? 3 If he will contend with him, he
cannot answer him one of a thousand. 4 He is wise in
heart, and mighty in strength: who has hardened himself
against him, and has prospered? 5 Which removes the
mountains, and they know not: which overturns them in his
anger. 6 Which shakes the earth out of her place, and the
pillars thereof tremble. 7 Which commands the sun, and it
rises not; and seals up the stars. 8 Which alone spreads
out the heavens, and treads on the waves of the sea. 9
Which makes Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers
of the south. 10 Which does great things past finding
out; yes, and wonders without number. 11 See, he goes by
me, and I see him not: he passes on also, but I perceive him
not. 12 Behold, he takes away, who can hinder him? who
will say to him, What do you?
11:7 Can you by
searching find out God? can you find out the Almighty to
perfection? 8 It is as high as heaven; what can you do?
deeper than hell; what can you know? 9 The measure
thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
23:13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and
what his soul desires, even that he does.
41:11 Who
has prevented me, that I should repay him? whatever is under
the whole heaven is mine.
42:1 Then Job answered the
LORD, and said, 2 I know that you can do every thing, and
that no thought can be withheld from you.
Ps
47:6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises to our
King, sing praises. 7 For God is the King of all the
earth: sing you praises with understanding. 8 God reigns
over the heathen: God sits on the throne of his holiness.
50:10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the
cattle on a thousand hills. 11 I know all the fowls of
the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.
12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you: for the world is
mine, and the fullness thereof.
74:17 You have set
all the borders of the earth: you have made summer and
winter.
75:6 For promotion comes neither from the
east, nor from the west, nor from the south. 7 But God is
the judge: he puts down one, and sets up another.
94:7 Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the
God of Jacob regard it. 8 Understand, you brutish among
the people: and you fools, when will you be wise? 9 He
that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the
eye, shall he not see? 10 He that chastises the heathen,
shall not he correct? he that teaches man knowledge, shall
not he know? 11 The LORD knows the thoughts of man, that
they are vanity.
97:9 For you, LORD, are high above
all the earth: you are exalted far above all gods.
113:5 Who is like to the LORD our God, who dwells on high,
6 Who humbles himself to behold the things that are in
heaven, and in the earth! 7 He raises up the poor out of
the dust, and lifts the needy out of the dunghill; 8 That
he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his
people. 9 He makes the barren woman to keep house, and to
be a joyful mother of children. Praise you the LORD.
115:1 Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give
glory, for your mercy, and for your truth’s sake. 2 Why
should the heathen say, Where is now their God? 3 But our
God is in the heavens: he has done whatever he has pleased.
135:5 For I know that the LORD is great, and that our
Lord is above all gods. 6 Whatever the LORD pleased, that
did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep
places. 7 He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of
the earth; he makes lightning for the rain; he brings the
wind out of his treasuries.
147:4 He tells the number
of the stars; he calls them all by their names. 5 Great
is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is
infinite.
Pr 8:12 I wisdom dwell with
prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. 15
By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. 16 By me
princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
21:1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the
rivers of water: he turns it wherever he will.
21:30
There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the
LORD. 31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle:
but safety is of the LORD.
Isa 40:12 Who has
measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out
heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth
in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the
hills in a balance? 13 Who has directed the Spirit of the
LORD, or being his counselor has taught him? 14 With whom
took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in
the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and showed
to him the way of understanding? 15 Behold, the nations
are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust
of the balance: behold, he takes up the isles as a very
little thing. 16 And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn,
nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.
17 All nations before him are as nothing; and they are
counted to him less than nothing, and vanity. 18 To whom
then will you liken God? or what likeness will you compare
to him? 19 The workman melts a graven image, and the
goldsmith spreads it over with gold, and casts silver
chains. 20 He that is so impoverished that he has no
oblation chooses a tree that will not rot; he seeks to him a
cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be
moved. 21 Have you not known? have you not heard? has it
not been told you from the beginning? have you not
understood from the foundations of the earth? 22 It is he
that sits on the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants
thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens
as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in:
23 That brings the princes to nothing; he makes the judges
of the earth as vanity. 24 Yes, they shall not be
planted; yes, they shall not be sown: yes, their stock shall
not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow on them,
and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them
away as stubble. 25 To whom then will you liken me, or
shall I be equal? said the Holy One. 26 Lift up your eyes
on high, and behold who has created these things, that
brings out their host by number: he calls them all by names
by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in
power; not one fails. 27 Why say you, O Jacob, and speak,
O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is
passed over from my God? 28 Have you not known? have you
not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator
of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary?
there is no searching of his understanding.
41:4 Who
has worked and done it, calling the generations from the
beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am
he.
43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there
is no savior. 12 I have declared, and have saved, and I
have showed, when there was no strange god among you:
therefore you are my witnesses, said the LORD, that I am
God. 13 Yes, before the day was I am he; and there is
none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who
shall let it?
44:7 And who, as I, shall call, and
shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I
appointed the ancient people? and the things that are
coming, and shall come, let them show to them.
46:9
Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there
is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10
Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times
the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall
stand, and I will do all my pleasure: 11 Calling a
ravenous bird from the east, the man that executes my
counsel from a far country: yes, I have spoken it, I will
also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do
it.
48:3 I have declared the former things from the
beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I showed
them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass. 4
Because I knew that you are obstinate, and your neck is an
iron sinew, and your brow brass; 5 I have even from the
beginning declared it to you; before it came to pass I
showed it you: lest you should say, My idol has done them,
and my graven image, and my molten image, has commanded
them. 6 You have heard, see all this; and will not you
declare it? I have showed you new things from this time,
even hidden things, and you did not know them. 7 They are
created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day
when you heard them not; lest you should say, Behold, I knew
them. 8 Yes, you heard not; yes, you knew not; yes, from
that time that your ear was not opened: for I knew that you
would deal very treacherously, and were called a
transgressor from the womb.
50:2 Why, when I came,
was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer?
Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have
I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the
sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinks,
because there is no water, and dies for thirst.
55:8
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways
my ways, said the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher
than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my
thoughts than your thoughts.
Jer 10:6 For as
much as there is none like to you, O LORD; you are great,
and your name is great in might. 7 Who would not fear
you, O King of nations? for to you does it appertain: for as
much as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all
their kingdoms, there is none like to you. 10 But the
LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an
everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and
the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.
11 Thus shall you say to them, The gods that have not made
the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the
earth, and from under these heavens. 12 He has made the
earth by his power, he has established the world by his
wisdom, and has stretched out the heavens by his discretion.
13 When he utters his voice, there is a multitude of waters
in the heavens, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the
ends of the earth; he makes lightning with rain, and brings
forth the wind out of his treasures.
23:23 Am I a God
at hand, said the LORD, and not a God afar off? 24 Can
any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him?
said the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? said the
LORD.
32:26 Then came the word of the LORD to
Jeremiah, saying, 27 Behold, I am the LORD, the God of
all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? 28
Therefore thus said the LORD; Behold, I will give this city
into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of
Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it:
Dan 2:20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the
name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
21 And he changes the times and the seasons: he removes
kings, and sets up kings: he gives wisdom to the wise, and
knowledge to them that know understanding:
2:37 You,
O king, are a king of kings: for the God of heaven has given
you a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. 38 And
wherever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field
and the fowls of the heaven has he given into your hand, and
has made you ruler over them all. You are this head of gold.
4:17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and
the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that
the living may know that the most High rules in the kingdom
of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will, and sets up over
it the basest of men. 24 This is the interpretation, O
king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come
on my lord the king: 25 That they shall drive you from
men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the
field, and they shall make you to eat grass as oxen, and
they shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times
shall pass over you, till you know that the most High rules
in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will.
26 And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree
roots; your kingdom shall be sure to you, after that you
shall have known that the heavens do rule. 29 At the end
of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of
Babylon. 30 The king spoke, and said, Is not this great
Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by
the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?
31 While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a
voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to you it
is spoken; The kingdom is departed from you. 32 And they
shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with
the beasts of the field: they shall make you to eat grass as
oxen, and seven times shall pass over you, until you know
that the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it
to whomsoever he will. 33 The same hour was the thing
fulfilled on Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and
did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of
heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and
his nails like birds’ claws. 34 And at the end of the
days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my
understanding returned to me, and I blessed the most High,
and I praised and honored him that lives for ever, whose
dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from
generation to generation: 35 And all the inhabitants of
the earth are reputed as nothing: and he does according to
his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of
the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say to him, What
do you?
5:18 O you king, the most high God gave
Nebuchadnezzar your father a kingdom, and majesty, and
glory, and honor:
Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I
change not; therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed.
The Perfection and Holiness of God
Mt 5:48 Be you therefore perfect, even as your
Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Rom 2:1
Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are that
judge: for wherein you judge another, you condemn yourself;
for you that judge do the same things. 2 But we are sure
that the judgment of God is according to truth against them
which commit such things. 3 And think you this, O man,
that judge them which do such things, and do the same, that
you shall escape the judgment of God? 4 Or despise you
the riches of his goodness and forbearance and
long-suffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leads
you to repentance? 5 But after your hardness and
impenitent heart treasure up to yourself wrath against the
day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of
God; 6 Who will render to every man according to his
deeds: 11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
3:5 But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness
of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who takes
vengeance? (I speak as a man) 6 God forbid: for then how
shall God judge the world?
Col 3:25 But he
that does wrong shall receive for the wrong which he has
done: and there is no respect of persons.
Tit
3:4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior
toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness
which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us,
by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy
Ghost;
Jas 1:16 Do not err, my beloved
brothers. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is
from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with
whom is no ficklenss, neither shadow of turning.

Pe 1:15 But as he which has called you is holy, so be
you holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is
written, Be you holy; for I am holy. 17 And if you call
on the Father, who without respect of persons judges
according to every man’s work, pass the time of your
sojourning here in fear:
1 Joh 1:5 This then
is the message which we have heard of him, and declare to
you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
Rev 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into
it any thing that defiles, neither whatever works
abomination, or makes a lie: but they which are written in
the Lamb’s book of life.
Ex 19:10 And the LORD
said to Moses, Go to the people, and sanctify them to day
and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes, 11 And be
ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will
come down in the sight of all the people on mount Sinai.
12 And you shall set bounds to the people round about,
saying, Take heed to yourselves, that you go not up into the
mount, or touch the border of it: whoever touches the mount
shall be surely put to death: 13 There shall not an hand
touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through;
whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the
trumpet sounds long, they shall come up to the mount. 14
And Moses went down from the mount to the people, and
sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes. 15
And he said to the people, Be ready against the third day:
come not at your wives. 16 And it came to pass on the
third day in the morning, that there were thunders and
lightning, and a thick cloud on the mount, and the voice of
the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was
in the camp trembled. 17 And Moses brought forth the
people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at
the nether part of the mount. 18 And mount Sinai was
altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended on it in
fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a
furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. 19 And when
the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and
louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice. 20
And the LORD came down on mount Sinai, on the top of the
mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount;
and Moses went up. 21 And the LORD said to Moses, Go
down, charge the people, lest they break through to the LORD
to gaze, and many of them perish. 22 And let the priests
also, which come near to the LORD, sanctify themselves, lest
the LORD break forth on them. 23 And Moses said to the
LORD, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai: for you
charged us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and sanctify
it. 24 And the LORD said to him, Away, get you down, and
you shall come up, you, and Aaron with you: but let not the
priests and the people break through to come up to the LORD,
lest he break forth on them. 25 So Moses went down to the
people, and spoke to them.
20:5 You shall not bow
down yourself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD your
God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers
on the children to the third and fourth generation of them
that hate me;
20:18 And all the people saw the
thunder, and the lightning, and the noise of the trumpet,
and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they
removed, and stood afar off. 19 And they said to Moses,
Speak you with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak
with us, lest we die. 20 And Moses said to the people,
Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear
may be before your faces, that you sin not.
Lev
10:1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of
them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense
thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he
commanded them not. 2 And there went out fire from the
LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. 3
Then Moses said to Aaron, This is it that the LORD spoke,
saying, I will be sanctified in them that come near me, and
before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held
his peace.
19:1 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
2 Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel,
and say to them, You shall be holy: for I the LORD your God
am holy.
Num 27:12 And the LORD said to Moses,
Get you up into this mount Abarim, and see the land which I
have given to the children of Israel. 13 And when you
have seen it, you also shall be gathered to your people, as
Aaron your brother was gathered. 14 For you rebelled
against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife
of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before
their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the
wilderness of Zin.
De 32:4 He is the Rock, his
work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of
truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
2 Ch 19:7 Why now let the fear of the LORD be on you;
take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD
our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
Job 4:17 Shall mortal man be more just than God?
shall a man be more pure than his maker? 18 Behold, he
put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with
folly: 19 How much less in them that dwell in houses of
clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which are crushed
before the moth?
11:7 Can you by searching find out
God? can you find out the Almighty to perfection? 8 It is
as high as heaven; what can you do? deeper than hell; what
can you know? 9 The measure thereof is longer than the
earth, and broader than the sea.
34:10 Therefore
listen to me you men of understanding: far be it from God,
that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he
should commit iniquity. 11 For the work of a man shall he
render to him, and cause every man to find according to his
ways. 12 Yes, surely God will not do wickedly, neither
will the Almighty pervert judgment.
Ps 5:4 For
you are not a God that has pleasure in wickedness: neither
shall evil dwell with you.
7:9 Oh let the wickedness
of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for
the righteous God tries the hearts and reins.
25:8
Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach
sinners in the way.
33:5 He loves righteousness and
judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.
34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is
the man that trusts in him.
86:5 For you, Lord, are
good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy to all
them that call on you.
89:14 Justice and judgment are
the habitation of your throne: mercy and truth shall go
before your face.
145:17 The LORD is righteous in all
his ways, and holy in all his works.
Isa 51:4
Listen to me, my people; and give ear to me, O my nation:
for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment
to rest for a light of the people.
Lam 3:25
The LORD is good to them that wait for him, to the soul that
seeks him.
Mic 7:18 Who is a God like to you,
that pardons iniquity, and passes by the transgression of
the remnant of his heritage? he retains not his anger for
ever, because he delights in mercy.
The Wrath of God
Mt 3:7 But
when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his
baptism, he said to them, O generation of vipers, who has
warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
Joh
3:36 He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and
he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the
wrath of God stays on him.
Rom 1:18 For the
wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness
and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in
unrighteousness;
2:5 But after your hardness and
impenitent heart treasure up to yourself wrath against the
day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of
God; 6 Who will render to every man according to his
deeds: 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing
seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life: 8
But to them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth,
but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
3:5
But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God,
what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who takes vengeance?
(I speak as a man) 6 God forbid: for then how shall God
judge the world?
5:9 Much more then, being now
justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through
him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled
to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled,
we shall be saved by his life.
9:22 What if God,
willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known,
endured with much long-suffering the vessels of wrath fitted
to destruction:
12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not
yourselves, but rather give place to wrath: for it is
written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, said the Lord.
Eph 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words:
for because of these things comes the wrath of God on the
children of disobedience.
Col 3:5 Mortify
therefore your members which are on the earth; fornication,
uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and
covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things’ sake
the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience:
1 Th 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven,
whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us
from the wrath to come.
2:16 Forbidding us to speak
to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their
sins always: for the wrath is come on them to the uttermost.
5:9 For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain
salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Heb 3:17
But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with
them that had sinned, whose carcasses fell in the
wilderness?
Rev 6:15 And the kings of the
earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief
captains, and the mighty men, and every slave, and every
free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the
mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall
on us, and hide us from the face of him that sits on the
throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great
day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
11:18 And the nations were angry, and your wrath is
come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged,
and that you should give reward to your servants the
prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear your name,
small and great; and should destroy them which destroy the
earth.
15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great
and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues;
for in them is filled up the wrath of God. 7 And one of
the four beasts gave to the seven angels seven golden vials
full of the wrath of God, who lives for ever and ever.
The Deity of the Holy Spirit
Mt 28:19 Go you therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Ghost:
Acts 5:3 But Peter
said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the
Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
4 Whiles it remained, was it not your own? and after it was
sold, was it not in your own power? why have you conceived
this thing in your heart? you have not lied to men, but to
God.
1 Cor 2:10 But God has revealed them to
us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yes,
the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things
of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so
the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God. 12
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the
spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that
are freely given to us of God.
3:16 Know you not that
you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells
in you? 6:19 What? know you not that your body is the
temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of
God, and you are not your own?
12:6 And there are
diversities of operations, but it is the same God which
works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit
is given to every man to profit with. 8 For to one is
given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word
of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by
the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same
Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another
prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another
divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of
tongues: 11 But all these works that one and the selfsame
Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
2 Cor 3:3 For as much as you are manifestly declared
to be the letter of Christ ministered by us, written not
with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in
tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of
God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all.
Amen.
Heb 3:7 Why (as the Holy Ghost said, To
day if you will hear his voice, 8 Harden not your hearts,
as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the
wilderness: 9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me,
and saw my works forty years.
9:14 How much more
shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit
offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience
from dead works to serve the living God?
1 Pe
4:14 If you be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are
you; for the spirit of glory and of God rests on you: on
their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is
glorified.
Gen 1:2 And the earth was without
form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God moved on the face of the waters.
Judges 15:14 And when he came to Lehi, the
Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD
came mightily on him, and the cords that were on his arms
became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands
loosed from off his hands. 16:20 And she said, The
Philistines be on you, Samson. And he awoke out of his
sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and
shake myself. And he knew not that the LORD was departed
from him.
2 Sam 23:2 The Spirit of the LORD
spoke by me, and his word was in my tongue. 3 The God of
Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me, He that rules
over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
Job 33:4 The spirit of God has made me, and the breath
of the Almighty has given me life.
Ps 139:7
Where shall I go from your spirit? or where shall I flee
from your presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, you are
there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, you are there.
The Personality of the Holy Spirit
Mt
4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness
to be tempted of the devil.
10:20 For it is not you
that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaks in
you.
Lu 2:25 And, behold, there was a man in
Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just
and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the
Holy Ghost was on him. 26 And it was revealed to him by
the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had
seen the Lord’s Christ. 27 And he came by the Spirit into
the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus,
to do for him after the custom of the law,
4:17 And
there was delivered to him the book of the prophet Esaias.
And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it
was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because
he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has
sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to
the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set
at liberty them that are bruised,
12:12 For the Holy
Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what you ought to
say.
Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and
he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with
you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world
cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him:
but you know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in
you. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom
the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all
things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I
have said to you.
15:26 But when the Comforter is
come, whom I will send to you from the Father, even the
Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, he shall
testify of me:
16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the
truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go
not away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I
depart, I will send him to you. 8 And when he is come, he
will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of
judgment: 9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; 10
Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and you see me
no more; 11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world
is judged.
16:13 However, when he, the Spirit of
truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he
shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall hear, that
shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. 14
He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall
show it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are
mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and
shall show it to you.
Acts 1:16 Men and
brothers, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled,
which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spoke before
concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and
began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them
utterance.
5:9 Then Peter said to her, How is it that
you have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord?
behold, the feet of them which have buried your husband are
at the door, and shall carry you out.
7:51 You stiff
necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you do always
resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do you.
8:29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, Go near, and join
yourself to this chariot.
9:31 Then had the churches
rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were
edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the
comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
10:19
While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said to him,
Behold, three men seek you. 20 Arise therefore, and get
you down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have
sent them.
11:12 And the Spirit bade me go with them,
nothing doubting. Moreover these six brothers accompanied
me, and we entered into the man’s house:
13:1 Now
there were in the church that was at Antioch certain
prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was
called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had
been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 As
they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost
said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I
have called them. 3 And when they had fasted and prayed,
and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. 4 So
they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed to
Seleucia; and from there they sailed to Cyprus.
16:6
Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of
Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the
word in Asia, 7 After they were come to Mysia, they
assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them
not.
20:22 And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit
to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me
there: 23 Save that the Holy Ghost witnesses in every
city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me. 28 Take
heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, over the
which the Holy Ghost has made you overseers, to feed the
church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood.
21:11 And when he was come to us, he took Paul’s girdle,
and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus said the
Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that
ownes this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of
the Gentiles.
28:25 And when they agreed not among
themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one
word, Well spoke the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet to our
fathers, 26 Saying, Go to this people, and say, Hearing
you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you
shall see, and not perceive:
Rom 1:4 And
declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the
spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
5:5 And hope makes not ashamed; because the love of God
is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is
given to us.
8:11 But if the Spirit of him that
raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised
up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal
bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you.
8:16 The
Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the
children of God: 26 Likewise the Spirit also helps our
infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we
ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with
groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that
searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit,
because he makes intercession for the saints according to
the will of God.
14:17 For the kingdom of God is not
meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the
Holy Ghost.
15:30 Now I beseech you, brothers, for
the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the
Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to
God for me; 31 That I may be delivered from them that do
not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for
Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints;
1 Cor
2:10 But God has revealed them to us by his Spirit: for the
Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit
of man which is in him? even so the things of God knows no
man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not
the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God;
that we might know the things that are freely given to us of
God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words
which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost
teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14
But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of
God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know
them, because they are spiritually discerned.
12:7
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to
profit with. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word
of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same
Spirit; 11 But all these works that one and the selfsame
Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
Gal 4:6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth
the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba,
Father.
5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Eph 1:15 Why I also, after I heard of your faith
in the Lord Jesus, and love to all the saints, 16 Cease
not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my
prayers; 17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the
Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and
revelation in the knowledge of him:
4:30 And grieve
not the holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed to the
day of redemption.
1 Th 1:6 And you became
followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word
in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost.
1
Tim 4:1 Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the
latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed
to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2
Tim 1:7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but
of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Heb
3:7 Why (as the Holy Ghost said, To day if you will hear his
voice, 8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation,
in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 9 When your
fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
10:15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us:
for after that he had said before, 16 This is the
covenant that I will make with them after those days, said
the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their
minds will I write them;
1 Pe 1:10 Of which
salvation the prophets have inquired and searched
diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come to
you: 11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit
of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified
beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that
should follow.
2 Pe 1:20 Knowing this first,
that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private
interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time
by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were
moved by the Holy Ghost.
1 Joh 5:6 This is he
that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by
water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit
that bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7 For
there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the
Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And
there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and
the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
Rev 2:7 He that has an ear, let him hear what the
Spirit said to the churches; To him that overcomes will I
give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the middle of
the paradise of God. 11 He that has an ear, let him hear
what the Spirit said to the churches; He that overcomes
shall not be hurt of the second death. 29 He that has an
ear, let him hear what the Spirit said to the churches.
Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void;
and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of
God moved on the face of the waters.
Judges
3:9 And when the children of Israel cried to the LORD, the
LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who
delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s
younger brother. 10 And the Spirit of the LORD came on
him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the LORD
delivered Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his
hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushanrishathaim.
1 Sam 19:20 And Saul sent messengers to take
David: and when they saw the company of the prophets
prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the
Spirit of God was on the messengers of Saul, and they also
prophesied. 21 And when it was told Saul, he sent other
messengers, and they prophesied likewise. And Saul sent
messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also.
2 Sam 23:2 The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me,
and his word was in my tongue. 3 The God of Israel said,
the Rock of Israel spoke to me, He that rules over men must
be just, ruling in the fear of God.
1 Ki 18:11
And now you say, Go, tell your lord, Behold, Elijah is here.
12 And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from you,
that the Spirit of the LORD shall carry you where I know
not; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find
you, he shall slay me: but I your servant fear the LORD from
my youth.
2 Ch 15:1 And the Spirit of God came
on Azariah the son of Oded:
20:14 Then on Jahaziel
the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel,
the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came
the Spirit of the LORD in the middle of the congregation;
24:20 And the Spirit of God came on Zechariah the son of
Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said
to them, Thus said God, Why transgress you the commandments
of the LORD, that you cannot prosper? because you have
forsaken the LORD, he has also forsaken you.

9:20 You gave also your good spirit to instruct them, and
withheld not your manna from their mouth, and gave them
water for their thirst. 30 Yet many years did you forbear
them, and testified against them by your spirit in your
prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore gave you
them into the hand of the people of the lands.
Job
33:4 The spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the
Almighty has given me life.
Ps 106:33 Because
they provoked his spirit, so that he spoke unadvisedly with
his lips.
143:10 Teach me to do your will; for you
are my God: your spirit is good; lead me into the land of
uprightness.
Isa 11:1 And there shall come
forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall
grow out of his roots: 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall
rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the
spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of
the fear of the LORD;
34:16 Seek you out of the book
of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none
shall want her mate: for my mouth it has commanded, and his
spirit it has gathered them.
40:13 Who has directed
the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counselor has taught
him? 14 With whom took he counsel, and who instructed
him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him
knowledge, and showed to him the way of understanding?
48:16 Come you near to me, hear you this; I have not
spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it
was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, has
sent me.
59:19 So shall they fear the name of the
LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the
sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit
of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on me; because the LORD
has anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek; he has
sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to
the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are
bound;
63:10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy
Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he
fought against them. 14 As a beast goes down into the
valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so did
you lead your people, to make yourself a glorious name.
Eze 3:24 Then the spirit entered into me, and set
me on my feet, and spoke with me, and said to me, Go, shut
yourself within your house.
11:24 Afterwards the
spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit
of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision
that I had seen went up from me.
Heavenly Father
Mt 7:11
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your
children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven
give good things to them that ask him?
Lu 1:49
For he that is mighty has done to me great things; and holy
is his name. 50 And his mercy is on them that fear him
from generation to generation.
2:13 And suddenly
there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host
praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men.
6:36 Be you
therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
15:20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was
yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion,
and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
Joh
3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life.
10:28 And I give
to them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither
shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father,
which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able
to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father
are one.
Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his
mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no
respecter of persons:
Rom 2:11 For there is no
respect of persons with God.
5:8 But God commends his
love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ
died for us.
8:37 No, in all these things we are more
than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am
persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor
principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things
to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other
creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12:1 I beseech you
therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present
your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God,
which is your reasonable service.
15:4 For whatever
things were written aforetime were written for our learning,
that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might
have hope. 5 Now the God of patience and consolation
grant you to be like minded one toward another according to
Christ Jesus: 13 Now the God of hope fill you with all
joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope,
through the power of the Holy Ghost. 33 Now the God of
peace be with you all. Amen.
1 Cor 1:9 God is
faithful, by whom you were called to the fellowship of his
Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
10:13 There has no
temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God
is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above
that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a
way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.
14:3
But he that prophesies speaks to men to edification, and
exhortation, and comfort.
2 Cor 1:3 Blessed be
God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforts us in
all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them
which are in any trouble, by the comfort with which we
ourselves are comforted of God. 5 For as the sufferings
of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds by
Christ. 6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your
consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the
enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or
whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and
salvation.
7:5 For, when we were come into Macedonia,
our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side;
without were fights, within were fears. 6 Nevertheless
God, that comforts those that are cast down, comforted us by
the coming of Titus;
13:11 Finally, brothers,
farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind,
live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with
you. 13 All the saints salute you.
Eph 2:4
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love with which
he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, has
quickened us together with Christ, (by grace you are saved;)
6:9 And, you masters, do the same things to them,
forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in
heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
Php 4:9 Those things, which you have both
learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and
the God of peace shall be with you.
1 Th 5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray
God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved
blameless to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24
Faithful is he that calls you, who also will do it.
2 Th 2:16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God,
even our Father, which has loved us, and has given us
everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17
Comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word
and work.
3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall
establish you, and keep you from evil. 16 Now the Lord of
peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord
be with you all.
1 Tim 4:10 For therefore we
both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the
living God, who is the Savior of all men, specially of those
that believe.
2 Tim 2:13 If we believe not,
yet he stays faithful: he cannot deny himself.
Tit
3:4 But after that the kindness and love of God our
Savior toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of
righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy
he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of
the Holy Ghost;
Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the
profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is
faithful that promised;)
1 Pe 4:19 Why let
them that suffer according to the will of God commit the
keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as to a
faithful Creator.
5:10 But the God of all grace, who
has called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after
that you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish,
strengthen, settle you.
2 Pe 3:14 Why,
beloved, seeing that you look for such things, be diligent
that you may be found of him in peace, without spot, and
blameless. 15 And account that the long-suffering of our
Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also
according to the wisdom given to him has written to you;
1 Joh 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father
has bestowed on us, that we should be called the sons of
God: therefore the world knows us not, because it knew him
not.
4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love
is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and
knows God. 8 He that loves not knows not God; for God is
love. 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us,
because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world,
that we might live through him. 10 Herein is love, not
that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to
be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so
loved us, we ought also to love one another. 16 And we
have known and believed the love that God has to us. God is
love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in
him.
4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love
casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is
not made perfect in love. 19 We love him, because he
first loved us.
Jude 1:1 Jude, the servant of
Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are
sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ,
and called: 20 But you, beloved, building up yourselves
on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of
our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.
Re 7:16
They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither
shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For the
Lamb which is in the middle of the throne shall feed them,
and shall lead them to living fountains of waters: and God
shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Ex
22:26 If you at all take your neighbor’s raiment to pledge,
you shall deliver it to him by that the sun goes down: 27
For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his
skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass,
when he cries to me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.
34:5 And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with
him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. 6 And the
LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The
LORD God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and
abundant in goodness and truth, 7 Keeping mercy for
thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and
that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the
iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the
children’s children, to the third and to the fourth
generation.
De 4:31 (For the LORD your God is
a merciful God;) he will not forsake you, neither destroy
you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which he swore
to them.
10:17 For the LORD your God is God of gods,
and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible,
which regards not persons, nor takes reward: 18 He does
execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loves
the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.
33:27
The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the
everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from
before you; and shall say, Destroy them.
2 Ch
30:9 For if you turn again to the LORD, your brothers and
your children shall find compassion before them that lead
them captive, so that they shall come again into this land:
for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not
turn away his face from you, if you return to him.
Job 36:5 Behold, God is mighty, and despises not any:
he is mighty in strength and wisdom.
Ps 10:14
You have seen it; for you behold mischief and spite, to
requite it with your hand: the poor commits himself to you;
you are the helper of the fatherless.
23:1 The LORD
is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie
down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of
righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yes, though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no
evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they
comfort me.
27:10 When my father and my mother
forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
34:5 They
looked to him, and were lightened: and their faces were not
ashamed. 6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him,
and saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the
LORD encamps round about them that fear him, and delivers
them. 8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is
the man that trusts in him.
34:18 The LORD is near to
them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a
contrite spirit.
68:5 A father of the fatherless, and
a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. 6
God sets the solitary in families: he brings out those which
are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry
land.
86:5 For you, Lord, are good, and ready to
forgive; and plenteous in mercy to all them that call on
you.
86:15 But you, O Lord, are a God full of
compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in
mercy and truth. 16 O turn to me, and have mercy on me;
give your strength to your servant, and save the son of your
handmaid. 17 Show me a token for good; that they which
hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because you, LORD, have
helped me, and comforted me.
94:17 Unless the LORD
had been my help, my soul had almost dwelled in silence.
18 When I said, My foot slips; your mercy, O LORD, held me
up. 19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me your
comforts delight my soul.
95:7 For he is our God; and
we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
To day if you will hear his voice,
103:8 The LORD is
merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in
mercy.
145:8 The LORD is gracious, and full of
compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. 9 The LORD
is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his
works.
Isa 30:18 And therefore will the LORD wait,
that he may be gracious to you, and therefore will he be
exalted, that he may have mercy on you: for the LORD is a
God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
49:10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall
the heat nor sun smite them: for he that has mercy on them
shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide
them.
49:13 Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth;
and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD has
comforted his people, and will have mercy on his afflicted.
14 But Zion said, The LORD has forsaken me, and my Lord has
forgotten me. 15 Can a woman forget her sucking child,
that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb?
yes, they may forget, yet will I not forget you. 16
Behold, I have graven you on the palms of my hands; your
walls are continually before me.
51:12 I, even I, am
he that comforts you: who are you, that you should be afraid
of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall
be made as grass; 13 And forget the LORD your maker, that
has stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of
the earth; and have feared continually every day because of
the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy?
and where is the fury of the oppressor?
66:13 As one
whom his mother comforts, so will I comfort you; and you
shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
Jer 31:14 And
I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my
people shall be satisfied with my goodness, said the LORD.
Joel 2:12 Therefore also now, said the LORD, turn
you even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and
with weeping, and with mourning: 13 And rend your heart,
and not your garments, and turn to the LORD your God: for he
is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great
kindness, and repents him of the evil.
Jon 4:1
But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry.
2 And he prayed to the LORD, and said, I pray you, O LORD,
was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country?
Therefore I fled before to Tarshish: for I knew that you are
a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great
kindness, and repent you of the evil. 3 Therefore now, O
LORD, take, I beseech you, my life from me; for it is better
for me to die than to live. 10 Then said the LORD, You
have had pity on the gourd, for the which you have not
labored, neither made it grow; which came up in a night, and
perished in a night: 11 And should not I spare Nineveh,
that great city, wherein are more then six score thousand
persons that cannot discern between their right hand and
their left hand; and also much cattle?
Mic
7:18 Who is a God like to you, that pardons iniquity, and
passes by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage?
he retains not his anger for ever, because he delights in
mercy. 19 He will turn again, he will have compassion on
us; he will subdue our iniquities; and you will cast all
their sins into the depths of the sea. 20 You will
perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which
you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.
Mal 3:17 And they shall be mine, said the LORD of
hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will
spare them, as a man spares his own son that serves him.
18 Then shall you return, and discern between the righteous
and the wicked, between him that serves God and him that
serves him not.
One God
Mr 12:28 And one of
the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together,
and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him,
Which is the first commandment of all? 29 And Jesus
answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O
Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And you shall
love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all
your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your
strength: this is the first commandment.
Joh
17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know you the
only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
Rom 3:30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify
the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
1 Cor 8:4 As concerning therefore the eating of those
things that are offered in sacrifice to idols, we know that
an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none
other God but one. 5 For though there be that are called
gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many,
and lords many,) 6 But to us there is but one God, the
Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord
Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
Gal 3:20 Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but
God is one.
Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all,
who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
1 Tim 1:17 Now to the King eternal, immortal,
invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever
and ever. Amen.
2:5 For there is one God, and one
mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Jas 2:19 You believe that there is one God; you do
well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But will
you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
De 4:35 To you it was showed, that you might know
that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.
39 Know therefore this day, and consider it in your heart,
that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and on the earth
beneath: there is none else.
6:4 Hear, O Israel: The
LORD our God is one LORD: 5 And you shall love the LORD
your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and
with all your might. 6 And these words, which I command
you this day, shall be in your heart:
32:39 See now
that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill,
and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any
that can deliver out of my hand.
Ps 86:9 All
nations whom you have made shall come and worship before
you, O Lord; and shall glorify your name. 10 For you are
great, and do wondrous things: you are God alone.
Isa 37:16 O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwell
between the cherubim, you are the God, even you alone, of
all the kingdoms of the earth: you have made heaven and
earth. 20 Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his
hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you
are the LORD, even you only.
43:10 You are my
witnesses, said the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen:
that you may know and believe me, and understand that I am
he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there
be after me. 11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me
there is no savior.
44:6 Thus said the LORD the King
of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the
first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
7 And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set
it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people?
and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them
show to them. 8 Fear you not, neither be afraid: have not
I told you from that time, and have declared it? you are
even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yes, there is
no God; I know not any.
45:5 I am the LORD, and there
is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded you,
though you have not known me: 6 That they may know from
the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none
beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. 7 I
form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and
create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
45:21
Tell you, and bring them near; yes, let them take counsel
together: who has declared this from ancient time? who has
told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no
God else beside me; a just God and a Savior; there is none
beside me. 22 Look to me, and be you saved, all the ends
of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and
there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
