De 11:26 Behold, I set

shall then say, Why have you done so? 11 And David said
to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which
came forth of my bowels, seeks my life: how much more now
may this Benjamite do it? let him alone, and let him curse;
for the LORD has bidden him. 12 It may be that the LORD
will look on my affliction, and that the LORD will requite
me good for his cursing this day.
2 Ch 34:23
And she answered them, Thus said the LORD God of Israel,
Tell you the man that sent you to me, 24 Thus said the
LORD, Behold, I will bring evil on this place, and on the
inhabitants thereof, even all the curses that are written in
the book which they have read before the king of Judah:
25 Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to
other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the
works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be poured out
on this place, and shall not be quenched.

God turned the curse into a blessing.

Ps 62:3 How long will you imagine
mischief against a man? you shall be slain all of you: as a
bowing wall shall you be, and as a tottering fence. 4
They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they
delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse

Forgiveness
Mt 6:11 Give us this day our daily
bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our
debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver
us from evil: For your is the kingdom, and the power, and
the glory, for ever. Amen. 14 For if you forgive men
their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive

heavenly Father do also to you, if you from your hearts
forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

1 Cor 8:1 Now as touching things offered to idols, we
know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but

any man love God, the same is known of him.

meat commends us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we

any man see you which have knowledge sit at meat in the
idol’s temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak
be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to

brother perish, for whom Christ died? 12 But when you sin
so against the brothers, and wound their weak conscience,
you sin against Christ. 13 Why, if meat make my brother
to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world stands, lest
I make my brother to offend.
9:19 For though I be
free from all men, yet have I made myself servant to all,

the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are

without law, (being not without law to God, but under the

Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s wealth.

question for conscience sake: 26 For the earth is the

them that believe not bid you to a feast, and you be
disposed to go; whatever is set before you, eat, asking no

you, This is offered in sacrifice to idols, eat not for his
sake that showed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth

say, not your own, but of the other: for why is my liberty

be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I

13:4 Charity suffers long,
and is kind; charity envies not; charity braggs not itself,

Eph 4:29 Let no corrupt
communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is
good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to
the hearers.

Rom 12:16 Be
of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things,
but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own
conceits. 17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide
things honest in the sight of all men. 18 If it be
possible, as much as lies in you, live peaceably with all

6:1 Dare any of you,
having a matter against another, go to law before the
unjust, and not before the saints? 2 Do you not know that
the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be
judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest
matters? 3 Know you not that we shall judge angels? how
much more things that pertain to this life? 4 If then you
have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them
to judge who are least esteemed in the church. 5 I speak
to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among
you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his
brothers? 6 But brother goes to law with brother, and
that before the unbelievers. 7 Now therefore there is
utterly a fault among you, because you go to law one with
another. Why do you not rather take wrong? why do you not
rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? 8 No, you do
wrong, and defraud, and that your brothers.
11:17 Now
in this that I declare to you I praise you not, that you
come together not for the better, but for the worse. 18
For first of all, when you come together in the church, I
hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe
it. 19 For there must be also heresies among you, that
they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
2 Cor 12:20 For I fear, lest, when I come, I
shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be
found to you such as you would not: lest there be debates,
contentions, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings,
arrogance, tumults: 21 And lest, when I come again, my
God will humble me among you, and that I shall mourn many
which have sinned already, and have not repented of the
uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they
have committed.
13:11 Finally, brothers, farewell. Be
perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace;
and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even
in this; You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 15 But
if you bite and devour one another, take heed that you be
not consumed one of another. 16 This I say then, Walk in
the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Finally, be you all of one mind, having compassion one of

Gen 13:7 And there was a strife between the herdsmen
of Abram’s cattle and the herdsmen of Lot’s cattle: and the

LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the
LORD, like the land of Egypt, as you come to Zoar.
26:19 And Isaac’s servants dig in the valley, and found
there a well of springing water. 20 And the herdsmen of
Gerar did strive with Isaac’s herdsmen, saying, The water is
ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they
strove with him. 21 And they dig another well, and strove
for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah. 22
And he removed from there, and dig another well; and for
that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth;
and he said, For now the LORD has made room for us, and we
shall be fruitful in the land.
Ex 21:18 And if
men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or
with his fist, and he die not, but keeps his bed: 19 If
he rise again, and walk abroad on his staff, then shall he
that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of
his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.

he have done you no harm.
6:12 A naughty person, a
wicked man, walks with a fraudulent mouth. 13 He winks
with his eyes, he speaks with his feet, he teaches with his

10:12 Hatred stirs up strifes: but love covers all sins.
13:10 Only by pride comes contention: but with the well
advised is wisdom.

strife: but he that is slow to anger appeases strife.

is as when one lets out water: therefore leave off
contention, before it be meddled with.

transgression that loves strife: and he that exalts his gate

separated himself, seeks and intermeddles with all wisdom.
18:6 A fool’s lips enter into contention, and his mouth
calls for strokes.
18:17 He that is first in his own
cause seems just; but his neighbor comes and searches him.
18 The lot causes contentions to cease, and parts between
the mighty. 19 A brother offended is harder to be won
than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars
of a castle.
20:3 It is an honor for a man to cease
from strife: but every fool will be meddling.

Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yes,
strife and reproach shall cease.

the churning of milk brings forth butter, and the wringing

Isa 58:4 Behold, you fast
for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of

Good Actions towards others
Mt 5:7 Blessed are the merciful:
for they shall obtain mercy.
5:14 You are the light
of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel,
but on a candlestick; and it gives light to all that are in
the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that
they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which
is in heaven.
5:42 Give to him that asks you, and
from him that would borrow of you turn not you away.
10:41 He that receives a prophet in the name of a prophet
shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receives a
righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a

13 But when you make a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the
lame, the blind: 14 And you shall be blessed; for they

Joh 10:32 Jesus

he shall be a vessel to honor, sanctified, and meet for the
master’s use, and prepared to every good work.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may
be perfect, thoroughly furnished to all good works.
Tit 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in
works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and
to every good work reprobate.
2:7 In all things
showing yourself a pattern of good works: in doctrine
showing soundness, gravity, sincerity, 8 Sound speech,
that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary
part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us
from all iniquity, and purify to himself a peculiar people,
zealous of good works.
3:1 Put them in mind to be
subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates,
to be ready to every good work, 2 To speak evil of no
man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness to

3:8 This is a faithful saying, and these
things I will that you affirm constantly, that they which
have believed in God might be careful to maintain good
works. These things are good and profitable to men.
3:14 And let our’s also learn to maintain good works for
necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.

6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and
labor of love, which you have showed toward his name, in
that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

diligence to the full assurance of hope to the end:

my youth up: what lack I yet? 21 Jesus said to him, If
you will be perfect, go and sell that you have, and give to
the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come

a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard
very precious; and she broke the box, and poured it on his

themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment
made? 5 For it might have been sold for more than three
hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they
murmured against her. 6 And Jesus said, Let her alone;
why trouble you her? she has worked a good work on me. 7
For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you will
you may do them good: but me you have not always. 8 She
has done what she could: she is come beforehand to anoint my
body to the burying. 9 Truly I say to you, Wherever this
gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this
also that she has done shall be spoken of for a memorial of

Lu 3:10 And the people asked him, saying,
What shall we do then? 11 He answers and said to them, He
that has two coats, let him impart to him that has none; and
he that has meat, let him do likewise.

said he also to him that bade him, When you make a dinner or
a supper, call not your friends, nor your brothers, neither
your kinsmen, nor your rich neighbors; lest they also bid
you again, and a recompense be made you. 13 But when you
make a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the

For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their

1 Sam 2:6 The LORD
kills, and makes alive: he brings down to the grave, and
brings up. 7 The LORD makes poor, and makes rich: he

them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of

Job 29:15 I was
eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame. 16 I was a
father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I

Jer 5:27 As a cage

the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the
fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do
they not judge.
Eze 16:49 Behold, this was the
iniquity of your sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and
abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters,
neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

Then shall he say also to them on the left hand, Depart from

43 I was a stranger, and you took me not in: naked, and you
clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and you visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw
we you an hungered, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or
sick, or in prison, and did not minister to you? 45 Then
shall he answer them, saying, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch
as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it
not to me.
Mr 12:19 Master, Moses wrote to us,
If a man’s brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and
leave no children, that his brother should take his wife,
and raise up seed to his brother.

the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the

marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to
the adversary to speak reproachfully. 15 For some are
already turned aside after Satan. 16 If any man or woman
that believes have widows, let them relieve them, and let
not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are
widows indeed.
Heb 11:8 By faith Abraham, when
he was called to go out into a place which he should after
receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not

Job 24:3 They drive
away the ass of the fatherless, they take the widow’s ox for
a pledge. 4 They turn the needy out of the way: the poor

I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him
that had none to help him. 13 The blessing of him that

Isa 1:17 Learn to do well; seek

10:1 Woe to them
that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness

from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of
my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may
rob the fatherless! 3 And what will you do in the day of
visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far?
to whom will you flee for help? and where will you leave

Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own
land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they

judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of
the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence

indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house
kings sitting on the throne of David, riding in chariots and
on horses, he, and his servants, and his people. 5 But if
you will not hear these words, I swear by myself, said the
LORD, that this house shall become a desolation.

Loving one's neighbour
Mt 5:38 You have
heard that it has been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth
for a tooth: 39 But I say to you, That you resist not
evil: but whoever shall smite you on your right cheek, turn
to him the other also. 40 And if any man will sue you at
the law, and take away your coat, let him have your cloak
also. 41 And whoever shall compel you to go a mile, go
with him two. 42 Give to him that asks you, and from him
that would borrow of you turn not you away.
5:43 You
have heard that it has been said, You shall love your
neighbor, and hate your enemy. 44 But I say to you, Love
your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them
that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you,
and persecute you; 45 That you may be the children of
your Father which is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise
on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and
on the unjust. 46 For if you love them which love you,
what reward have you? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if you salute your brothers only, what do you more
than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be you
therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is
perfect.
7:12 Therefore all things whatever you would
that men should do to you, do you even so to them: for this
is the law and the prophets.

Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in

any thing, but to love one another: for he that loves

if there be any other commandment, it is briefly
comprehended in this saying, namely, You shall love your
neighbor as yourself. 10 Love works no ill to his

1 Cor 4:13 Being defamed, we entreat: we are made
as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all
things to this day.
6:7 Now therefore there is
utterly a fault among you, because you go to law one with
another. Why do you not rather take wrong? why do you not
rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?
8:1 Now as
touching things offered to idols, we know that we all have
knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but charity edifies.
13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels,
and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a
tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of
prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge;
and though I have all faith, so that I could remove
mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3 And
though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I
give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profits
me nothing.
13:4 Charity suffers long, and is kind;
charity envies not; charity braggs not itself, is not puffed
up, 5 Does not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own,
is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; 6 Rejoices not in
iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 Bears all things,
believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
13:8 Charity never fails: but whether there be
prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they
shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish
away. 13 And now stays faith, hope, charity, these three;
but the greatest of these is charity.
14:1 Follow
after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that
you may prophesy.
16:14 Let all your things be done
with charity.
2 Cor 6:3 Giving no offense in
any thing, that the ministry be not blamed: 4 But in all
things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much
patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,

Heb 6:10 For God
is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love,

1 Joh 2:9 He that said he is in the light, and
hates his brother, is in darkness even until now. 10 He
that loves his brother stays in the light, and there is none

brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and knows not
where he goes, because that darkness has blinded his eyes.
3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the
children of the devil: whoever does not righteousness is not
of God, neither he that loves not his brother. 11 For
this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that
we should love one another. 12 Not as Cain, who was of
that wicked one, and slew his brother. And why slew he him?
Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s
righteous.
3:14 We know that we have passed from
death to life, because we love the brothers. He that loves
not his brother stays in death. 15 Whoever hates his
brother is a murderer: and you know that no murderer has
eternal life abiding in him.

commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son
Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us

Rebuking, reprimand
Mt 18:15 Moreover if your

then take with you one or two more, that in the mouth of two
or three witnesses every word may be established. 17 And
if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it to the church: but
if he neglect to hear the church, let him be to you as an
heathen man and a publican. 18 Truly I say to you,
Whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven:
and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in
heaven.

5:9 I wrote to you in an
letter not to company with fornicators: 10 Yet not
altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the
covetous, or extortionists, or with idolaters; for then must
you needs go out of the world. 11 But now I have written
to you not to keep company, if any man that is called a
brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a
reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortionist; with such an one
no not to eat. 12 For what have I to do to judge them
also that are without? do not you judge them that are
within? 13 But them that are without God judges.
Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
2 Cor 2:5 But if any have caused grief, he has
not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you
all. 6 Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which
was inflicted of many. 7 So that contrariwise you ought
rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a
one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow. 8 Why I
beseech you that you would confirm your love toward him.
9 For to this end also did I write, that I might know the
proof of you, whether you be obedient in all things.
10:8 For though I should boast somewhat more of our
authority, which the Lord has given us for edification, and
not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed: 9 That
I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters.
12:19 Again, think you that we excuse ourselves to you? we
speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly
beloved, for your edifying.
13:9 For we are glad,
when we are weak, and you are strong: and this also we wish,
even your perfection. 10 Therefore I write these things
being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness,
according to the power which the Lord has given me to
edification, and not to destruction.

when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself,
fearing them which were of the circumcision. 13 And the
other Jews dissembled likewise with him; so that Barnabas
also was carried away with their dissimulation. 14 But
when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the
truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, If
you, being a Jew, live after the manner of Gentiles, and not
as do the Jews, why compel you the Gentiles to live as do
the Jews?
6:1 Brothers, if a man be overtaken in a
fault, you which are spiritual, restore such an one in the
spirit of meekness; considering yourself, lest you also be
tempted.

the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

1:19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having

is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered to Satan,
that they may learn not to blaspheme.
5:1 Rebuke not
an elder, but entreat him as a father; and the younger men
as brothers; 2 The elder women as mothers; the younger as
sisters, with all purity.
5:19 Against an elder
receive not an accusation, but before two or three
witnesses. 20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that
others also may fear. 21 I charge you before God, and the
Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that you observe
these things without preferring one before another, doing
nothing by partiality.
2 Tim 2:24 And the
servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle to all
men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing
those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give
them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And
that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the
devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may

4:1 I charge you therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus
Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his
appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant
in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all
long-suffering and doctrine.
Tit 1:10 For
there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers,
specially they of the circumcision: 11 Whose mouths must
be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which
they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake. 12 One of
themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians
are always liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. 13 This
witness is true. Why rebuke them sharply, that they may be
sound in the faith;
2:15 These things speak, and
exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise
you.
Lev 19:17 You shall not hate your brother
in your heart: you shall in any wise rebuke your neighbor,
and not suffer sin on him. 18 You shall not avenge, nor
bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you
shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.
Job 6:24 Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and
cause me to understand wherein I have erred. 25 How
forcible are right words! but what does your arguing
reprove? 26 Do you imagine to reprove words, and the
speeches of one that is desperate, which are as wind?
Ps 141:5 Let the righteous smite me; it shall be
a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent
oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also
shall be in their calamities.
Pr 6:23 For the
commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of
instruction are the way of life:
9:7 He that reproves
a scorner gets to himself shame: and he that rebukes a
wicked man gets himself a blot. 8 Reprove not a scorner,
lest he hate you: rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.
9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser:
teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
10:17 He is in the way of life that keeps instruction: but
he that refuses reproof errs.
12:1 Whoever loves
instruction loves knowledge: but he that hates reproof is
brutish.
13:1 A wise son hears his father’s
instruction: but a scorner hears not rebuke.

Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuses instruction:
but he that regards reproof shall be honored.
15:5 A
fool despises his father’s instruction: but he that regards
reproof is prudent. 10 Correction is grievous to him that
forsakes the way: and he that hates reproof shall die. 12
A scorner loves not one that reproves him: neither will he
go to the wise.
15:31 The ear that hears the reproof

instruction despises his own soul: but he that hears reproof
gets understanding. 33 The fear of the LORD is the
instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility.
17:10 A reproof enters more into a wise man than an hundred
