THE INFLUENCE OF COMPANY
1 Cor 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
2 Cor 6:14 Be you not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for
what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion
has light with darkness?
15 And what concord has Christ with Belial? or what part has he that
believes with an infidel?
16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? for you are the
temple of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in
them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Why come out from among them, and be you separate, said the Lord, and
touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
Eph 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these
things comes the wrath of God on the children of disobedience.
7 Be not you therefore partakers with them.
1 Tim 5:22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other
men’s sins: keep yourself pure.
2 Tim 2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will
increase to more ungodliness.
17 And their word will eat as does a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and
Philetus;
2 Pe 2:7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation
of the wicked:
8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed
his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
Ex 23:2 You shall not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shall
you speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:
34:15 Lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go
a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice to their gods, and one call you,
and you eat of his sacrifice;
16 And you take of their daughters to your sons, and their daughters go a
whoring after their gods, and make your sons go a whoring after their gods.
1 Ki 11:1 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with
the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites,
Zidonians, and Hittites:
2 Of the nations concerning which the LORD said to the children of Israel,
You shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in to you: for surely
they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon joined to these in
love.
3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines:
and his wives turned away his heart.
4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his
heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God,
as was the heart of David his father.
5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after
Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after
the LORD, as did David his father.
7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab,
in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the
children of Ammon.
8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and
sacrificed to their gods.
Ps 1:1 Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the
ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the
scornful.
26:4 I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers.
5 I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the
wicked.
50:18 When you saw a thief, then you consented with him, and have been
partaker with adulterers.
84:10 For a day in your courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a
doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
141:4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked works with
men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.
Pr 1:10 My son, if sinners entice you, consent you not.
11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk
privately for the innocent without cause:
15 My son, walk not you in the way with them; refrain your foot from their
path:
4:14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil
men.
15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.
13:20 He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools
shall be destroyed.
17:12 Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man, rather than a fool in his
folly.
18:3 When the wicked comes, then comes also contempt, and with ignominy
reproach.
22:5 Thorns and snares are in the way of the fraudulent: he that does keep
his soul shall be far from them.
22:24 Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man you shall
not go:
25 Lest you learn his ways, and get a snare to your soul.
23:20 Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh:
21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness
shall clothe a man with rags.
24:1 Be not you envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
2 For their heart studies destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
29:3 Whoever loves wisdom rejoices his father: but he that keeps company
with harlots spends his substance.
