FRIENDSHIP
Mt 11:16 But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like to
children sitting in the markets, and calling to their fellows,
17 And saying, We have piped to you, and you have not danced; we have
mourned to you, and you have not lamented.
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a devil.
19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man
gluttonous, and a drunkard, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is
justified of her children.
Lu 12:4 And I say to you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill
the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
5 But I will forewarn you whom you shall fear: Fear him, which after he has
killed has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, Fear him.
14:12 Then said he also to him that bade him, When you make a dinner or a
supper, call not your friends, nor your brothers, neither your kinsmen, nor
your rich neighbors; lest they also bid you again, and a recompense be made
you.
13 But when you make a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
14 And you shall be blessed; for they cannot recompense you: for you shall
be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
16:8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely:
for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the
children of light.
9 And I say to you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of
unrighteousness; that, when you fail, they may receive you into everlasting
habitations.
21:16 And you shall be betrayed both by parents, and brothers, and kinfolks,
and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
17 And you shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.
23:11 And Herod with his men of war set him at nothing, and mocked him, and
arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.
12 And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before
they were at enmity between themselves.
Joh 3:28 You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the
Christ, but that I am sent before him.
29 He that has the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom,
which stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s
voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
11:11 These things said he: and after that he said to them, Our friend
Lazarus sleeps; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
15:13 Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for
his friends.
14 You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you.
15 From now on I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his
lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard
of my Father I have made known to you.
Acts 19:30 And when Paul would have entered in to the people, the
disciples suffered him not.
31 And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent to him,
desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theatre.
27:3 And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated
Paul, and gave him liberty to go to his friends to refresh himself.
Jas 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had
offered Isaac his son on the altar?
22 See you how faith worked with his works, and by works was faith made
perfect?
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which said, Abraham believed God, and it
was imputed to him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
4:4 You adulterers and adulteresses, know you not that the friendship of the
world is enmity with God? whoever therefore will be a friend of the world is
the enemy of God.
5 Do you think that the scripture said in vain, The spirit that dwells in us
lusts to envy?
3 Joh 1:14 But I trust I shall shortly see you, and we shall speak
face to face. Peace be to you. Our friends salute you. Greet the friends by
name.
1 Ki 5:1 And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon; for he
had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for
Hiram was ever a lover of David.
1 Ch 27:33 And Ahithophel was the king’s counselor: and Hushai the
Archite was the king’s companion:
2 Ch 20:7 Are not you our God, who did drive out the inhabitants of
this land before your people Israel, and gave it to the seed of Abraham your
friend for ever?
Job 2:11 Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this evil that was
come on him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite,
and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an
appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.
Ps 41:9 Yes, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat
of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.
55:12 For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it:
neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I
would have hid myself from him:
13 But it was you, a man my equal, my guide, and my acquaintance.
14 We took sweet counsel together, and walked to the house of God in company.
127:1 Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it:
except the LORD keep the city, the watchman wakes but in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of
sorrows: for so he gives his beloved sleep.

many friends.
16:28 A fraudulent man sows strife: and a whisperer separates chief friends.
17:9 He that covers a transgression seeks love; but he that repeats a matter
separates very friends.
17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
18:24 A man that has friends must show himself friendly: and there is a
friend that sticks closer than a brother.
19:4 Wealth makes many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbor.
6 Many will entreat the favor of the prince: and every man is a friend to
him that gives gifts.
7 All the brothers of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go
far from him? he pursues them with words, yet they are wanting to him.
22:11 He that loves pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king
shall be his friend.
22:24 Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man you shall
not go:
25 Lest you learn his ways, and get a snare to your soul.
27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are
deceitful.
9 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so does the sweetness of a man’s
friend by hearty counsel.
10 Your own friend, and your father’s friend, forsake not; neither go into
your brother’s house in the day of your calamity: for better is a neighbor
that is near than a brother far off.
27:14 He that blesses his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the
morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.
Isa 41:8 But you, Israel, are my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen,
the seed of Abraham my friend.
