EXAMPLE
Mt 11:29 Take my yoke on you, and learn of me; for I am meek and
lowly in heart: and you shall find rest to your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Lu 22:24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should
be accounted the greatest.
25 And he said to them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over
them; and they that exercise authority on them are called benefactors.
26 But you shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as
the younger; and he that is chief, as he that does serve.
27 For whether is greater, he that sits at meat, or he that serves? is not
he that sits at meat? but I am among you as he that serves.
Joh 13:12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his
garments, and was set down again, he said to them, Know you what I have done
to you?
13 You call me Master and Lord: and you say well; for so I am.
14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; you also ought to
wash one another’s feet.
15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.
16 Truly, truly, I say to you, The servant is not greater than his lord;
neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
17 If you know these things, happy are you if you do them.
Acts 20:31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three
years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
32 And now, brothers, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace,
which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them
which are sanctified.
33 I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel.
34 Yes, you yourselves know, that these hands have ministered to my
necessities, and to them that were with me.
35 I have showed you all things, how that so laboring you ought to support
the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is
more blessed to give than to receive.
1 Cor 4:15 For though you have ten thousand instructors in Christ,
yet have you not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you
through the gospel.
16 Why I beseech you, be you followers of me.
11:1 Be you followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
2 Now I praise you, brothers, that you remember me in all things, and keep
the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.
Php 3:17 Brothers, be followers together of me, and mark them which
walk so as you have us for an ensample.
1 Th 1:6 And you became followers of us, and of the Lord, having
received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost.
7 So that you were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
2 Th 3:7 For yourselves know how you ought to follow us: for we
behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
8 Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nothing; but worked with labor and
travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample to you to
follow us.
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would
not work, neither should he eat.
1 Tim 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation,
that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
16 However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ
might show forth all long-suffering, for a pattern to them which should
hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
4:12 Let no man despise your youth; but be you an example of the believers,
in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
2 Tim 1:13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which you have heard of
me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
Tit 2:7 In all things showing yourself a pattern of good works: in
doctrine showing soundness, gravity, sincerity,
8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary
part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
Heb 13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken
to you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their
conversation.
Jas 5:10 Take, my brothers, the prophets, who have spoken in the name
of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. You have heard of the patience
of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful,
and of tender mercy.
1 Pe 2:20 For what glory is it, if, when you be buffeted for your
faults, you shall take it patiently? but if, when you do well, and suffer
for it, you take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
21 For even hereunto were you called: because Christ also suffered for us,
leaving us an example, that you should follow his steps:
22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he
threatened not; but committed himself to him that judges righteously:
5:1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a
witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that
shall be revealed:
2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof,
not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3 Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the
flock.
4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, you shall receive a crown of
glory that fades not away.
