THE SEDUCERS OF OTHERS
Mt 15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if
the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
18:6 But whoever shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me,
it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that
he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
7 Woe to the world because of offenses! for it must needs be that offenses
come; but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!
8 Why if your hand or your foot offend you, cut them off, and cast them from
you: it is better for you to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than
having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
9 And if your eye offend you, pluck it out, and cast it from you: it is
better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes
to be cast into hell fire.
Lu 17:1 Then said he to the disciples, It is impossible but that
offenses will come: but woe to him, through whom they come!
2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he
cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
Acts 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous
wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to
draw away disciples after them.
31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased
not to warn every one night and day with tears.
Rom 16:17 Now I beseech you, brothers, mark them which cause
divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned; and
avoid them.
18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own
belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
Gal 5:10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that you will be
none otherwise minded: but he that troubles you shall bear his judgment,
whoever he be.
11 And I, brothers, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer
persecution? then is the offense of the cross ceased.
12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
2 Tim 2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will
increase to more ungodliness.
17 And their word will eat as does a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and
Philetus;
18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past
already; and overthrow the faith of some.
3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and
being deceived.
2 Pe 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as
there shall be false teachers among you, who privately shall bring in
damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring on
themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of
truth shall be evil spoken of.
2:14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling
unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed
children:
2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through
the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean
escaped from them who live in error.
19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of
corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in
bondage.
1 Joh 4:5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world,
and the world hears them.
Num 13:25 And they returned from searching of the land after forty
days.
26 And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the
congregation of the children of Israel, to the wilderness of Paran, to
Kadesh; and brought back word to them, and to all the congregation, and
showed them the fruit of the land.
27 And they told him, and said, We came to the land where you sent us, and
surely it flows with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.
28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities
are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.
29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the
Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites
dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.
30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once,
and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against
the people; for they are stronger than we.
32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched to
the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to
search it, is a land that eats up the inhabitants thereof; and all the
people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.
33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants:
and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
1 Ki 21:25 But there was none like to Ahab, which did sell himself to
work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.
2 Ch 22:2 Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign,
and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Athaliah
the daughter of Omri.
3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab: for his mother was his
counselor to do wickedly.
4 Why he did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab: for they
were his counsellors after the death of his father to his destruction.
33:9 So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to
do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children
of Israel.
Job 34:30 That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.
Ps 49:12 Nevertheless man being in honor stays not: he is like the
beasts that perish.
13 This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings.
Selah.
14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the
upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall
consume in the grave from their dwelling.
Pr 1:10 My son, if sinners entice you, consent you not.
11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk
privately for the innocent without cause:
15 My son, walk not you in the way with them; refrain your foot from their
path:
6:26 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread:
and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.
27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?
7:21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering
of her lips she forced him.
22 He goes after her straightway, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a
fool to the correction of the stocks;
23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hastens to the snare, and
knows not that it is for his life.
24 Listen to me now therefore, O you children, and attend to the words of my
mouth.
25 Let not your heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
26 For she has cast down many wounded: yes, many strong men have been slain
by her.
27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
11:9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor: but through
knowledge shall the just be delivered.
11:11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is
overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
16:29 A violent man entices his neighbor, and leads him into the way that is
not good.
18:8 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the
innermost parts of the belly.
22:14 The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the
LORD shall fall therein.
26:22 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the
innermost parts of the belly.
28:10 Whoever causes the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall
fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in
possession.
29:8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
Ec 7:26 And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is
snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoever pleases God shall escape
from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.
9:18 Wisdom is better than weapons of war: but one sinner destroys much good.
Isa 3:12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women
rule over them. O my people, they which lead you cause you to err, and
destroy the way of your paths.
9:16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led
of them are destroyed.
29:20 For the terrible one is brought to nothing, and the scorner is
consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:
21 That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that
reproves in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nothing.
Eze 13:22 Because with lies you have made the heart of the righteous
sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked,
that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:
23 Therefore you shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I
will deliver my people out of your hand: and you shall know that I am the
LORD.
Hab 2:15 Woe to him that gives his neighbor drink, that put your
bottle to him, and make him drunken also, that you may look on their
nakedness!
Mal 2:7 For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should
seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.
8 But you are departed out of the way; you have caused many to stumble at
the law; you have corrupted the covenant of Levi, said the LORD of hosts.
9 Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people,
according as you have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.
