FAITH AND SALVATION
Mr 16:15 And he said to them, Go you into all the world, and preach the
gospel to every creature.
16 He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not
shall be damned.
Lu 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then comes the devil, and takes
away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
Joh 1:11 He came to his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of
God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the
will of man, but of God.
3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the
Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that
the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is
condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God.
3:36 He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believes
not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God stays on him.
6:28 Then said they to him, What shall we do, that we might work the works
of God?
29 Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that you
believe on him whom he has sent.
6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which sees the
Son, and believes on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up
at the last day.
47 Truly, truly, I say to you, He that believes on me has everlasting life.
8:24 I said therefore to you, that you shall die in your sins: for if you
believe not that I am he, you shall die in your sins.
12:36 While you have light, believe in the light, that you may be the
children of light. These things spoke Jesus, and departed, and did hide
himself from them.
46 I am come a light into the world, that whoever believes on me should not
abide in darkness.
16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of
righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and you see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
20:30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples,
which are not written in this book:
31 But these are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ,
the Son of God; and that believing you might have life through his name.
Acts 4:4 However, many of them which heard the word believed; and the number
of the men was about five thousand.
10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whoever
believes in him shall receive remission of sins.
11:13 And he showed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood
and said to him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is
Peter;
14 Who shall tell you words, whereby you and all your house shall be saved.
11:19 Now they which were scattered abroad on the persecution that arose
about Stephen traveled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching
the word to none but to the Jews only.
20 And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were
come to Antioch, spoke to the Grecians, preaching the LORD Jesus.
21 And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and
turned to the Lord.
15:7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said to them,
Men and brothers, you know how that a good while ago God made choice among
us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and
believe.
8 And God, which knows the hearts, bore them witness, giving them the Holy
Ghost, even as he did to us;
9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved,
and your house.
26:17 Delivering you from the people, and from the Gentiles, to whom now I
send you,
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the
power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and
inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
Rom 1:14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the
wise, and to the unwise.
15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are
at Rome also.
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God
to salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the
Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as
it is written, The just shall live by faith.
3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being
witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ to all
and on all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in
Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood,
to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past,
through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just,
and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus.
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? No: but by
the law of faith.
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds
of the law.
29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of
the Gentiles also:
30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and
uncircumcision through faith.
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yes, we establish
the law.
4:1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the
flesh, has found?
2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he has whereof to glory; but not
before God.
3 For what said the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted to
him for righteousness.
4 Now to him that works is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
5 But to him that works not, but believes on him that justifies the ungodly,
his faith is counted for righteousness.
6 Even as David also describes the blessedness of the man, to whom God
imputes righteousness without works,
7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are
covered.
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
4:9 Comes this blessedness then on the circumcision only, or on the
uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for
righteousness.
10 How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in
uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.
11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of
the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father
of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness
might be imputed to them also:
12 And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision
only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham,
which he had being yet uncircumcised.
4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to
Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of
faith.
14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the
promise made of none effect:
15 Because the law works wrath: for where no law is, there is no
transgression.
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the
promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law,
but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us
all,
17 (As it is written, I have made you a father of many nations,) before him
whom he believed, even God, who vivifies the dead, and calls those things
which be not as though they were.
18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of
many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall your seed be.
19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead,
when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s
womb:
20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong
in faith, giving glory to God;
21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to
perform.
22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that
raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
25 Who was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our
justification.
5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our
Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and
rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
9:30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after
righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which
is of faith.
31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, has not
attained to the law of righteousness.
32 Why? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of
the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone;
33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumbling stone and rock of
offense: and whoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.
10:1 Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they
might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to
knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to
establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the
righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that
believes.
10:5 For Moses describes the righteousness which is of the law, That the man
which does those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaks on this wise, Say not in
your heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down
from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again
from the dead.)
8 But what said it? The word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your
heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall
believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be
saved.
10 For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made to salvation.
11 For the scripture said, Whoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.
10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and
how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall
they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How
beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring
glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias said, Lord, who has
believed our report?
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
11:19 You will say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be
grafted in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith.
Be not high minded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare
not you.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell,
severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in his goodness:
otherwise you also shall be cut off.
23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in:
for God is able to graft them in again.
14:22 Have you faith? have it to yourself before God. Happy is he that
comdemns not himself in that thing which he allows.
23 And he that doubts is damned if he eat, because he eats not of faith: for
whatever is not of faith is sin.
1 Cor 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not
God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that
believe.
15:1 Moreover, brothers, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you,
which also you have received, and wherein you stand;
2 By which also you are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached to you,
unless you have believed in vain.
Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by
the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we
might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law:
for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
3:1 O foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, that you should not obey the
truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ has been evidently set forth,
crucified among you?
2 This only would I learn of you, Received you the Spirit by the works of
the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3 Are you so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are you now made perfect
by the flesh?
4 Have you suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
5 He therefore that ministers to you the Spirit, and works miracles among
you, does he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for
righteousness.
3:7 Know you therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the
children of Abraham.
8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through
faith, preached before the gospel to Abraham, saying, In you shall all
nations be blessed.
9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it
is written, Cursed is every one that continues not in all things which are
written in the book of the law to do them.
11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is
evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that does them shall live in
them.
13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for
us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus
Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
3:22 But the scripture has concluded all under sin, that the promise by
faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up to the faith
which should afterwards be revealed.
24 Why the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be
justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26 For you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Eph 1:13 In whom you also trusted, after that you heard the word of truth,
the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that you believed, you were
sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the
purchased possession, to the praise of his glory.
3:11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our
Lord:
12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
Php 3:9 And be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of
the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness
which is of God by faith:
2 Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they
should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had
pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brothers beloved
of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation
through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
1 Tim 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
16 However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ
might show forth all long-suffering, for a pattern to them which should
hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
1:18 This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies
which went before on you, that you by them might war a good warfare;
19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away
concerning faith have made shipwreck:
20 Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered to Satan, that
they may learn not to blaspheme.
6:11 But you, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after
righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto you
are also called, and have professed a good profession before many witnesses.
2 Tim 3:14 But continue you in the things which you have learned and have
been assured of, knowing of whom you have learned them;
15 And that from a child you have known the holy scriptures, which are able
to make you wise to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
4:6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at
hand.
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the
faith:
8 From now on there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the
Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only,
but to all them also that love his appearing.
Heb 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering
into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For to us was the gospel preached, as well as to them: but the word
preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard
it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn
in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were
finished from the foundation of the world.
10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul
shall have no pleasure in him.
39 But we are not of them who draw back to perdition; but of them that
believe to the saving of the soul.
11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to
God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that
diligently seek him.
1 Pe 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which
according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again to a lively hope by
the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fades not away,
reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith to salvation ready to be
revealed in the last time.
2:6 Why also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief
corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be
confounded.
7 To you therefore which believe he is precious: but to them which be
disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the
head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, even to them which
stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
1 Joh 5:11 And this is the record, that God has given to us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son.
12 He that has the Son has life; and he that has not the Son of God has not
life.
13 These things have I written to you that believe on the name of the Son of
God; that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe
on the name of the Son of God.
Hab 2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the
just shall live by his faith.
