THE WORKS OF FAITH
Rom 1:5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience
to the faith among all nations, for his name:
3:7 For if the truth of God has more abounded through my lie to his glory;
why yet am I also judged as a sinner?
8 And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that
we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.
3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yes, we
establish the law.
6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as
Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we
also should walk in newness of life.
16:25 Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel,
and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the
mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets,
according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all
nations for the obedience of faith:
2 Cor 4:13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is
written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and
therefore speak;
Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails any thing,
nor uncircumcision; but faith which works by love.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which
God has before ordained that we should walk in them.
1 Th 1:2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of
you in our prayers;
3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and
patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our
Father;
2 Th 1:11 Why also we pray always for you, that our God would count
you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his
goodness, and the work of faith with power:
Tit 3:8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that you
affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to
maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.
14 And let our’s also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that
they be not unfruitful.
Phm 1:6 That the communication of your faith may become effectual by
the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
Jas 1:22 But be you doers of the word, and not hearers only,
deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like to a man
beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and straightway forgets what
manner of man he was.
25 But whoever looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein,
he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be
blessed in his deed.
2:14 What does it profit, my brothers, though a man say he has faith, and
have not works? can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say to them, Depart in peace, be you warmed and filled;
notwithstanding you give them not those things which are needful to the body;
what does it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it has not works, is dead, being alone.
2:18 Yes, a man may say, You have faith, and I have works: show me your
faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
19 You believe that there is one God; you do well: the devils also believe,
and tremble.
20 But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered
Isaac his son on the altar?
22 See you how faith worked with his works, and by works was faith made
perfect?
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which said, Abraham believed God, and it
was imputed to him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
24 You see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had
received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is
dead also.
Ps 116:10 I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly
afflicted:
