LIBERTY, FREEDOM
Mt 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and you shall call his name JESUS:
for he shall save his people from their sins.
Lu 2:11 For to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is
Christ the Lord.
Joh 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If you
continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed;
32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any
man: how say you, You shall be made free?
34 Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Whoever commits sin is
the servant of sin.
35 And the servant stays not in the house for ever: but the Son stays ever.
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.
Rom 6:17 But God be thanked, that you were the servants of sin, but you have
obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, you became the servants of righteousness.
22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, you have
your fruit to holiness, and the end everlasting life.
8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from
the law of sin and death.
8:15 For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you
have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
1 Cor 7:20 Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.
21 Are you called being a servant? care not for it: but if you may be made
free, use it rather.
22 For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman:
likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant.
23 You are bought with a price; be not you the servants of men.
2 Cor 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is,
there is liberty.
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord,
are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit
of the LORD.
Gal 2:3 But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to
be circumcised:
4 And that because of false brothers unawares brought in, who came in
privately to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they
might bring us into bondage:
4:3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of
the world:
4 But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made
of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption
of sons.
6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into
your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Why you are no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of
God through Christ.
4:24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one
from the mount Sinai, which engenders to bondage, which is Agar.
25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answers to Jerusalem which
now is, and is in bondage with her children.
26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
27 For it is written, Rejoice, you barren that bore not; break forth and cry,
you that travail not: for the desolate has many more children than she which
has an husband.
28 Now we, brothers, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born
after the Spirit, even so it is now.
30 Nevertheless what said the scripture? Cast out the female slave and her
son: for the son of the female slave shall not be heir with the son of the
free woman.
31 So then, brothers, we are not children of the female slave, but of the
free.
5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty with which Christ has made us free,
and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
5:13 For, brothers, you have been called to liberty; only use not liberty
for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; You shall love
your neighbor as yourself.
Heb 2:14 For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood,
he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might
destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime
subject to bondage.
1 Pe 2:15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing you may put to
silence the ignorance of foolish men:
16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloak of maliciousness, but as
the servants of God.
2 Pe 2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure
through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were
clean escaped from them who live in error.
19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of
corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in
bondage.
Isa 42:6 I the LORD have called you in righteousness, and will hold your
hand, and will keep you, and give you for a covenant of the people, for a
light of the Gentiles;
7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and
them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on me; because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good tidings to the meek; he has sent me to bind up the
brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the
prison to them that are bound;
