HOPE
Acts 26:6 And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of
God, to our fathers:
7 To which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night,
hope to come. For which hope’s sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.
27:20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small
tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
Rom 4:18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father
of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall your seed be.
5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our
Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and
rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that
tribulation works patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope makes not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our
hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given to us.
8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by
reason of him who has subjected the same in hope,
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a
man sees, why does he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in
prayer;
15:4 For whatever things were written aforetime were written for our
learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have
hope.
15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that
you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
1 Cor 13:13 And now stays faith, hope, charity, these three; but the
greatest of these is charity.
15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most
miserable.
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of
them that slept.
2 Cor 1:8 For we would not, brothers, have you ignorant of our trouble which
came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, so
that we despaired even of life:
9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in
ourselves, but in God which raises the dead:
10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver: in whom we
trust that he will yet deliver us;
3:12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
13 And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of
Israel could not steadfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the
power may be of God, and not of us.
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but
not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
Gal 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by
faith.
Eph 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may
give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what
is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his
inheritance in the saints,
2:11 Why remember, that you being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who
are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the
flesh made by hands;
12 That at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the
commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having
no hope, and without God in the world:
4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of
your calling;
Col 1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof you heard
before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
23 If you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away
from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to
every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this
mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
1 Th 1:3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love,
and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our
Father;
4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning them
which are asleep, that you sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of
faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
2 Th 2:16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which
has loved us, and has given us everlasting consolation and good hope through
grace,
17 Comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work.
1 Tim 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our
Savior, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;
Tit 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before
the world began;
2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great
God and our Savior Jesus Christ;
3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to
the hope of eternal life.
Heb 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we
hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.
6:11 And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the
full assurance of hope to the end:
12 That you be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and
patience inherit the promises.
6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to
lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay
hold on the hope set before us:
19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and
which enters into that within the veil;
20 Where the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest
for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things
not seen.
12:3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against
himself, lest you be wearied and faint in your minds.
4 You have not yet resisted to blood, striving against sin.
5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to children,
My son, despise not you the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are
rebuked of him:
1 Pe 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which
according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again to a lively hope by
the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
1:13 Why gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for
the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
1:21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and
gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give
an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you
with meekness and fear:
1 Joh 3:3 And every man that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as
he is pure.
Job 6:11 What is my strength, that I should hope? and what is my end, that I
should prolong my life?
12 Is my strength the strength of stones? or is my flesh of brass?
13 Is not my help in me? and is wisdom driven quite from me?
7:6 My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle, and are spent without hope.
8:13 So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite’s hope shall
perish:
14 Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider’s web.
14:7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout
again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in
the ground;
9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a
plant.
19:7 Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there
is no judgment.
8 He has fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he has set darkness in my
paths.
9 He has stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
10 He has destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and my hope has he
removed like a tree.
11 He has also kindled his wrath against me, and he counts me to him as one
of his enemies.
27:8 For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he has gained, when God
takes away his soul?
Ps 33:18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is on them that fear him, on them that
hope in his mercy;
19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
39:7 And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in you.
62:5 My soul, wait you only on God; for my expectation is from him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defense; I shall not be
moved.
71:5 For you are my hope, O Lord GOD: you are my trust from my youth.
119:49. Muista sana, jonka olet palvelijallesi puhunut, sillä sinä olet
antanut minulle toivon.
50. Se on minun lohdutukseni kurjuudessani, että sinun lupauksesi minua
virvoittaa.
119:74 They that fear you will be glad when they see me; because I have
hoped in your word.
81 My soul faints for your salvation: but I hope in your word.
114 You are my hiding place and my shield: I hope in your word.
116 Uphold me according to your word, that I may live: and let me not be
ashamed of my hope.
147 I prevented the dawning of the morning, and cried: I hoped in your word.
130:5 I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, and in his word do I hope.
6 My soul waits for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I
say, more than they that watch for the morning.
146:5 Happy is he that has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in
the LORD his God:
6 Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which
keeps truth for ever:
147:10 He delights not in the strength of the horse: he takes not pleasure
in the legs of a man.
11 The LORD takes pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his
mercy.
Pr 10:28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of
the wicked shall perish.
11:7 When a wicked man dies, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of
unjust men perishes.
23:17 Let not your heart envy sinners: but be you in the fear of the LORD
all the day long.
18 For surely there is an end; and your expectation shall not be cut off.
24:14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul: when you have found
it, then there shall be a reward, and your expectation shall not be cut off.
Ec 9:4 For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a
living dog is better than a dead lion.
Jer 14:8 O the hope of Israel, the savior thereof in time of trouble, why
should you be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turns
aside to tarry for a night?
9 Why should you be as a man astonished, as a mighty man that cannot save?
yet you, O LORD, are in the middle of us, and we are called by your name;
leave us not.
29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, said the LORD,
thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12 Then shall you call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will
listen to you.
13 And you shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all
your heart.
Hos 12:6 Therefore turn you to your God: keep mercy and judgment and wait on
your God continually.
