SOBERMINDED BEHAVIOUR
Acts 2:12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another,
What means this?
13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said to
them, You men of Judaea, and all you that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known
to you, and listen to my words:
15 For these are not drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is but the third
hour of the day.
11:4 But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by
order to them, saying,
5 I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A
certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven
by four corners; and it came even to me:
22:17 And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even
while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance;
18 And saw him saying to me, Make haste, and get you quickly out of
Jerusalem: for they will not receive your testimony concerning me.
1 Cor 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the
knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
1 Th 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be
sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are
drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of
faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
1 Tim 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant,
sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all
things.
Tit 1:7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not
self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to
filthy lucre;
8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy,
temperate;
1 Pe 1:13 Why gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end
for the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring
lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour:
Num 11:25 And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spoke to him, and took of
the spirit that was on him, and gave it to the seventy elders: and it came
to pass, that, when the spirit rested on them, they prophesied, and did not
cease.
26 But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was
Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested on them; and
they were of them that were written, but went not out to the tabernacle: and
they prophesied in the camp.
27 And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do
prophesy in the camp.
28 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men,
answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.
29 And Moses said to him, Envy you for my sake? would God that all the
LORD’s people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit on them!
1 Sam 10:9 And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from
Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that
day.
10 And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met
him; and the Spirit of God came on him, and he prophesied among them.
11 And it came to pass, when all that knew him beforetime saw that, behold,
he prophesied among the prophets, then the people said one to another, What
is this that is come to the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?
12 And one of the same place answered and said, But who is their father?
Therefore it became a proverb, Is Saul also among the prophets?
13 And when he had made an end of prophesying, he came to the high place.
2 Sam 6:14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David
was girded with a linen ephod.
15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with
shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.
16 And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul’s
daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing
before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.
20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of
Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel
to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his
servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!
21 And David said to Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before
your father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people
of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.
22 And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in my own sight:
and of the maidservants which you have spoken of, of them shall I be had in
honor.
23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child to the day of her
death.
