THE LIFE OF JESUS AND THE PROPHECIES
Mt 2:3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled,
and all Jerusalem with him.
4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people
together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
5 And they said to him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by
the prophet,
6 And you Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, are not the least among the
princes of Juda: for out of you shall come a Governor, that shall rule my
people Israel.
14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and
departed into Egypt:
15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which
was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my
son.
3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of
Judaea,
2 And saying, Repent you: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice
of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare you the way of the Lord, make his
paths straight.
5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not
come to destroy, but to fulfill.
18 For truly I say to you, Till heaven and earth pass, one stroke or one
pronunciation mark shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
12:15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from there: and great
multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
16 And charged them that they should not make him known:
17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is
well pleased: I will put my spirit on him, and he shall show judgment to the
Gentiles.
19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the
streets.
20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench,
till he send forth judgment to victory.
21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
13:34 All these things spoke Jesus to the multitude in parables; and without
a parable spoke he not to them:
35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I
will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept
secret from the foundation of the world.
Lu 22:35 And he said to them, When I sent you without purse, and
money, and shoes, lacked you any thing? And they said, Nothing.
36 Then said he to them, But now, he that has a purse, let him take it, and
likewise his money: and he that has no sword, let him sell his garment, and
buy one.
37 For I say to you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in
me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning
me have an end.
38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said to them, It
is enough.
24:25 Then he said to them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that
the prophets have spoken:
26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his
glory?
27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded to them in all
the scriptures the things concerning himself.
32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he
talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
24:44 And he said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you, while I
was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in
the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the
scriptures,
Joh 1:40 One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was
Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.
41 He first finds his own brother Simon, and said to him, We have found the
Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, You are
Simon the son of Jona: you shall be called Cephas, which is by
interpretation, A stone.
43 The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and finds Philip,
and said to him, Follow me.
44 Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
45 Philip finds Nathanael, and said to him, We have found him, of whom Moses
in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of
Joseph.
2:13 And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the
changers of money sitting:
15 And when he had made a whip of small cords, he drove them all out of the
temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and
overthrew the tables;
16 And said to them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my
Father’s house an house of merchandise.
17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of your house
has eaten me up.
4:25 The woman said to him, I know that Messias comes, which is called
Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
26 Jesus said to her, I that speak to you am he.
5:37 And the Father himself, which has sent me, has borne witness of me. You
have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
38 And you have not his word abiding in you: for whom he has sent, him you
believe not.
39 Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and
they are they which testify of me.
40 And you will not come to me, that you might have life.
5:45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that
accuses you, even Moses, in whom you trust.
46 For had you believed Moses, you would have believed me; for he wrote of
me.
47 But if you believe not his writings, how shall you believe my words?
6:14 Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said,
This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
7:25 Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to
kill?
26 But, see, he speaks boldly, and they say nothing to him. Do the rulers
know indeed that this is the very Christ?
27 However, we know this man from where he is: but when Christ comes, no man
knows from where he is.
31 And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ comes, will
he do more miracles than these which this man has done?
7:40 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a
truth this is the Prophet.
41 Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of
Galilee?
42 Has not the scripture said, That Christ comes of the seed of David, and
out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
43 So there was a division among the people because of him.
19:23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments,
and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the
coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
24 They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots
for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which said,
They parted my raiment among them, and for my clothing they did cast lots.
These things therefore the soldiers did.
19:32 Then came the soldiers, and broke the legs of the first, and of the
other which was crucified with him.
33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they broke
not his legs:
34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and immediately
came there out blood and water.
35 And he that saw it bore record, and his record is true: and he knows that
he said true, that you might believe.
36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A
bone of him shall not be broken.
37 And again another scripture said, They shall look on him whom they
pierced.
Acts 17:2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in to them, and three
sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,
3 Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen
again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach to you, is Christ.
4 And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the
devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.
26:22 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue to this day,
witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those
which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should
rise from the dead, and should show light to the people, and to the Gentiles.
24 And as he thus spoke for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul,
you are beside yourself; much learning does make you mad.
25 But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words
of truth and soberness.
26 For the king knows of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for
I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing
was not done in a corner.
27 King Agrippa, believe you the prophets? I know that you believe.
28 Then Agrippa said to Paul, Almost you persuade me to be a Christian.
29 And Paul said, I would to God, that not only you, but also all that hear
me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these
bonds.
28:23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his
lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading
them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets,
from morning till evening.
24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.
1 Pe 1:10 Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched
diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come to you:
11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in
them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and
the glory that should follow.
12 To whom it was revealed, that not to themselves, but to us they did
minister the things, which are now reported to you by them that have
preached the gospel to you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which
things the angels desire to look into.
2 Pe 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto you do
well that you take heed, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until
the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private
interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of
God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between
your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his
heel.
22:18 And in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
because you have obeyed my voice.
49:10 The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between
his feet, until Shiloh come; and to him shall the gathering of the people be.
11 Binding his foal to the vine, and his ass’s colt to the choice vine; he
washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:
De 18:15 The LORD your God will raise up to you a Prophet from the
middle of you, of your brothers, like to me; to him you shall listen;
18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brothers, like to you,
and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak to them all that I
shall command him.
19 And it shall come to pass, that whoever will not listen to my words which
he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
1 Sam 2:35 And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according
to that which is in my heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure
house; and he shall walk before my anointed for ever.
12:3 Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his
anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I
defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe
to blind my eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.
4 And they said, You have not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither have
you taken ought of any man’s hand.
5 And he said to them, The LORD is witness against you, and his anointed is
witness this day, that you have not found ought in my hand. And they
answered, He is witness.
1 Ch 17:10 And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my
people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all your enemies. Furthermore I tell
you that the LORD will build you an house.
11 And it shall come to pass, when your days be expired that you must go to
be with your fathers, that I will raise up your seed after you, which shall
be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom.
12 He shall build me an house, and I will establish his throne for ever.
13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my
mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before you:
14 But I will settle him in my house and in my kingdom for ever: and his
throne shall be established for ever more.
15 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did
Nathan speak to David.
16 And David the king came and sat before the LORD, and said, Who am I, O
LORD God, and what is my house, that you have brought me till now?
17 And yet this was a small thing in your eyes, O God; for you have also
spoken of your servant’s house for a great while to come, and have regarded
me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O LORD God.
Ps 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel
together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4 He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in
derision.
5 Then shall he speak to them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore
displeasure.
6 Yet have I set my king on my holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree: the LORD has said to me, You are my Son; this
day have I begotten you.
8 Ask of me, and I shall give you the heathen for your inheritance, and the
uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; you shall dash them in pieces
like a potter’s vessel.
10 Be wise now therefore, O you kings: be instructed, you judges of the
earth.
11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish from the way, when his
wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in
him.
22:1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? why are you so far from
helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake
the head, saying,
8 He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him,
seeing he delighted in him.
12 Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
13 They gaped on me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart
is like wax; it is melted in the middle of my bowels.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue sticks to my jaws;
and you have brought me into the dust of death.
16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me:
they pierced my hands and my feet.
17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare on me.
18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots on my clothing.
22:27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the LORD: and all
the kindreds of the nations shall worship before you.
28 For the kingdom is the LORD’s: and he is the governor among the nations.
29 All they that be fat on earth shall eat and worship: all they that go
down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.
30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a
generation.
31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness to a people that
shall be born, that he has done this.
45:1 My heart is gushing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have
made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
2 You are fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into your lips:
therefore God has blessed you for ever.
6 Your throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the scepter of your kingdom is a
right scepter.
7 You love righteousness, and hate wickedness: therefore God, your God, has
anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.
72:7 In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so
long as the moon endures.
8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river to the
ends of the earth.
9 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies
shall lick the dust.
10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of
Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
11 Yes, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.
12 For he shall deliver the needy when he cries; the poor also, and him that
has no helper.
13 He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.
14 He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall
their blood be in his sight.
15 And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer
also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.
16 There shall be an handful of corn in the earth on the top of the
mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city
shall flourish like grass of the earth.
17 His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as
the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
110:1 The LORD said to my Lord, Sit you at my right hand, until I make your
enemies your footstool.
2 The LORD shall send the rod of your strength out of Zion: rule you in the
middle of your enemies.
4 The LORD has sworn, and will not repent, You are a priest for ever after
the order of Melchizedek.
118:22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the
corner.
23 This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in
it.
25 Save now, I beseech you, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech you, send now
prosperity.
26 Blessed be he that comes in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out
of the house of the LORD.
Pr 8:12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty
inventions.
13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogance, and the evil
way, and the fraudulent mouth, do I hate.
14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
16 By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
18 Riches and honor are with me; yes, durable riches and righteousness.
19 My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold; and my revenue than
choice silver.
20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the middle of the paths of
judgment:
21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill
their treasures.
22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of
old.
23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no
fountains abounding with water.
25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:
26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest
part of the dust of the world.
27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass on the
face of the depth:
28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains
of the deep:
29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his
commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his
delight, rejoicing always before him;
31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with
the sons of men.
32 Now therefore listen to me, O you children: for blessed are they that
keep my ways.
33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
34 Blessed is the man that hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at
the posts of my doors.
35 For whoever finds me finds life, and shall obtain favor of the LORD.
36 But he that sins against me wrongs his own soul: all they that hate me
love death.
30:4 Who has ascended up into heaven, or descended? who has gathered the
wind in his fists? who has bound the waters in a garment? who has
established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his
son’s name, if you can tell?
5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield to them that put their trust in
him.
Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a
virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
8:13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let
him be your dread.
14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a
rock of offense to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to
the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared,
and be taken.
9:1 Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when
at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of
Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the
sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.
2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that
dwell in the land of the shadow of death, on them has the light shined.
9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given: and the government
shall be on his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, on the
throne of David, and on his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with
judgment and with justice from now on even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of
hosts will perform this.
11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch
shall grow out of his roots:
2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and
understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and
of the fear of the LORD;
3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he
shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the
hearing of his ears:
4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity
for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his
mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the
girdle of his reins.
10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an
ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be
glorious.
28:16 Therefore thus said the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a
foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure
foundation: he that believes shall not make haste.
40:3 The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, Prepare you the way of
the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made
low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it
together: for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.
40:9 O Zion, that bring good tidings, get you up into the high mountain; O
Jerusalem, that bring good tidings, lift up your voice with strength; lift
it up, be not afraid; say to the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule
for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with
his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are
with young.
41:2 Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot,
gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as
the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow.
41:27 The first shall say to Zion, Behold, behold them: and I will give to
Jerusalem one that brings good tidings.
42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; my elect, in whom my soul delights; I
have put my spirit on him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the
street.
3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not
quench: he shall bring forth judgment to truth.
4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the
earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
5 Thus said God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them
out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which comes out of it; he that
gives breath to the people on it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
6 I the LORD have called you in righteousness, and will hold your hand, and
will keep you, and give you for a covenant of the people, for a light of the
Gentiles;
7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and
them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another,
neither my praise to graven images.
9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare:
before they spring forth I tell you of them.
45:14 Thus said the LORD, The labor of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia
and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over to you, and they shall
be yours: they shall come after you; in chains they shall come over, and
they shall fall down to you, they shall make supplication to you, saying,
Surely God is in you; and there is none else, there is no God.
15 Truly you are a God that hide yourself, O God of Israel, the Savior.
45:22 Look to me, and be you saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God,
and there is none else.
23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness,
and shall not return, That to me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall
swear.
24 Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength:
even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be
ashamed.
25 In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.
46:13 I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my
salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my
glory.
48:16 Come you near to me, hear you this; I have not spoken in secret from
the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD,
and his Spirit, has sent me.
49:5 And now, said the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant,
to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be
glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.
6 And he said, It is a light thing that you should be my servant to raise up
the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also
give you for a light to the Gentiles, that you may be my salvation to the
end of the earth.
7 Thus said the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom
man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers, Kings
shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is
faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose you.
8 Thus said the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard you, and in a day
of salvation have I helped you: and I will preserve you, and give you for a
covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the
desolate heritages;
50:4 The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know
how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakens morning by
morning, he wakens my ear to hear as the learned.
5 The Lord GOD has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned
away back.
6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the
hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
7 For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded:
therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be
ashamed.
8 He is near that justifies me; who will contend with me? let us stand
together: who is my adversary? let him come near to me.
9 Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? see,
they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.
51:5 My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and my arms shall
judge the people; the isles shall wait on me, and on my arm shall they trust.
52:7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him that brings good
tidings, that publishes peace; that brings good tidings of good, that
publishes salvation; that said to Zion, Your God reigns!
8 Your watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they
sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.
9 Break forth into joy, sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem: for
the LORD has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.
10 The LORD has made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and
all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
52:13 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and
extolled, and be very high.
14 As many were astonished at you; his visage was so marred more than any
man, and his form more than the sons of men:
15 So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at
him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which
they had not heard shall they consider.
53:1 Who has believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD
revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a
dry ground: he has no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there
is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with
grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we
esteemed him not.
4 Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem
him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our
iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was on him; and with his stripes
we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own
way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is
brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is
dumb, so he opens not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his
generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the
transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death;
because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he has put him to grief: when you
shall make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall
prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his
knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their
iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide
the spoil with the strong; because he has poured out his soul to death: and
he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bore the sin of many, and
made intercession for the transgressors.
55:1 Ho, every one that thirsts, come you to the waters, and he that has no
money; come you, buy, and eat; yes, come, buy wine and milk without money
and without price.
2 Why do you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for
that which satisfies not? listen diligently to me, and eat you that which is
good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
3 Incline your ear, and come to me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I
will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and
commander to the people.
5 Behold, you shall call a nation that you know not, and nations that knew
not you shall run to you because of the LORD your God, and for the Holy One
of Israel; for he has glorified you.
56:1 Thus said the LORD, Keep you judgment, and do justice: for my salvation
is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
60:1 Arise, shine; for your light is come, and the glory of the LORD is
risen on you.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the
people: but the LORD shall arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you.
61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on me; because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good tidings to the meek; he has sent me to bind up the
brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the
prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of
our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint to them that mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty for ashes,
the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of
heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of
the LORD, that he might be glorified.
62:11 Behold, the LORD has proclaimed to the end of the world, Say you to
the daughter of Zion, Behold, your salvation comes; behold, his reward is
with him, and his work before him.
63:9 In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence
saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them,
and carried them all the days of old.
66:7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was
delivered of a man child.
8 Who has heard such a thing? who has seen such things? Shall the earth be
made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as
soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
Jer 23:5 Behold, the days come, said the LORD, that I will raise to
David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall
execute judgment and justice in the earth.
6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this
is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
33:14 Behold, the days come, said the LORD, that I will perform that good
thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.
15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness
to grow up to David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the
land.
16 In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and
this is the name with which she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.
Eze 34:23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed
them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their
shepherd.
24 And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among
them; I the LORD have spoken it.
37:24 And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have
one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes,
and do them.
25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob my servant,
wherein your fathers have dwelled; and they shall dwell therein, even they,
and their children, and their children’s children for ever: and my servant
David shall be their prince for ever.
Dan 2:22 He reveals the deep and secret things: he knows what is in
the darkness, and the light dwells with him.
3:24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and
spoke, and said to his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the
middle of the fire? They answered and said to the king, True, O king.
25 He answered and said, See, I see four men loose, walking in the middle of
the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son
of God.
7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came
with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought
him near before him.
14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all
people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an
everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which
shall not be destroyed.
9:24 Seventy weeks are determined on your people and on your holy city, to
finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make
reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and
to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the
commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem to the Messiah the Prince
shall be seven weeks, and three score and two weeks: the street shall be
built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
26 And after three score and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for
himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city
and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and to the end
of the war desolations are determined.
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the
middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease,
and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even
until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured on the desolate.
Mic 5:2 But you, Bethlehem Ephratah, though you be little among the
thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall he come forth to me that is to be
ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
4 And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of
the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be
great to the ends of the earth.
Zec 3:8 Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you, and your fellows
that sit before you: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring
forth my servant the BRANCH.
9 For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; on one stone shall be
seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the engraving thereof, said the LORD of
hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
6:12 And speak to him, saying, Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold
the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and
he shall build the temple of the LORD:
13 Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory,
and shall sit and rule on his throne; and he shall be a priest on his throne:
and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.
9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem:
behold, your King comes to you: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and
riding on an ass, and on a colt the foal of an ass.
11:12 And I said to them, If you think good, give me my price; and if not,
forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
13 And the LORD said to me, Cast it to the potter: a goodly price that I was
priced at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to
the potter in the house of the LORD.
12:1 The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, said the LORD, which
stretches forth the heavens, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms
the spirit of man within him.
10 And I will pour on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of
Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look on
me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for
his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in
bitterness for his firstborn.
13:5 But he shall say, I am no prophet, I am an farmer; for man taught me to
keep cattle from my youth.
6 And one shall say to him, What are these wounds in your hands? Then he
shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
7 Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow,
said the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered:
and I will turn my hand on the little ones.
Mal 3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the
way before me: and the LORD, whom you seek, shall suddenly come to his
temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom you delight in: behold, he
shall come, said the LORD of hosts.
2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he
appears? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:
3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify
the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to
the LORD an offering in righteousness.
