THE ASCENSION OF JESUS
Mr 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken to them, he was received up into
heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them,
and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Lu 24:25 Then he said to them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all
that the prophets have spoken:
26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his
glory?
27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded to them in all
the scriptures the things concerning himself.
24:50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands,
and blessed them.
51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and
carried up into heaven.
Joh 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and you believe not, how shall
you believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13 And no man has ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven,
even the Son of man which is in heaven.
6:60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This
is an hard saying; who can hear it?
61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said to
them, Does this offend you?
62 What and if you shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?
7:33 Then said Jesus to them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I
go to him that sent me.
34 You shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither you
cannot come.
35 Then said the Jews among themselves, Where will he go, that we shall not
find him? will he go to the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the
Gentiles?
36 What manner of saying is this that he said, You shall seek me, and shall
not find me: and where I am, thither you cannot come?
8:21 Then said Jesus again to them, I go my way, and you shall seek me, and
shall die in your sins: where I go, you cannot come.
22 Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he said, Where I go,
you cannot come.
13:33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You shall seek me:
and as I said to the Jews, Where I go, you cannot come; so now I say to you.
14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have
told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive
you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
16:5 But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asks me, Where
go you?
6 But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away:
for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I depart, I
will send him to you.
20:17 Jesus said to her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my
Father: but go to my brothers, and say to them, I ascend to my Father, and
your Father; and to my God, and your God.
Acts 1:1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus
began both to do and teach,
2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy
Ghost had given commandments to the apostles whom he had chosen:
3 To whom also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible
proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining
to the kingdom of God:
1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up;
and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold,
two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Which also said, You men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into heaven?
this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in
like manner as you have seen him go into heaven.
12 Then returned they to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is
from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.
2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received
of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he has shed forth this, which
you now see and hear.
34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he said himself, The Lord
said to my Lord, Sit you on my right hand,
35 Until I make your foes your footstool.
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God has made
the same Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Rom 8:34 Who is he that comdemns? It is Christ that died, yes rather, that
is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes
intercession for us.
Eph 1:20 Which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and
set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every
name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to
come:
4:7 But to every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the
gift of Christ.
8 Why he said, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and
gave gifts to men.
9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into
the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens,
that he might fill all things.)
Col 3:1 If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above,
where Christ sits on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his
person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by
himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand,
until I make your enemies your footstool?
4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the
heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast,
and which enters into that within the veil;
20 Where the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest
for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an
high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in
the heavens;
2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord
pitched, and not man.
9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a
greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say,
not of this building;
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered
in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are
the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the
presence of God for us:
10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever,
sat down on the right hand of God;
12:2 Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy
that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set
down at the right hand of the throne of God.
1 Pe 1:10 Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched
diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come to you:
11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in
them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and
the glory that should follow.
3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism does also now save us (not the
putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience
toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and
authorities and powers being made subject to him.
1 Joh 2:1 My little children, these things write I to you, that you sin not.
And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the
righteous:
Ps 68:18 You have ascended on high, you have led captivity captive: you have
received gifts for men; yes, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God
might dwell among them.
110:1 The LORD said to my Lord, Sit you at my right hand, until I make your
enemies your footstool.
2 The LORD shall send the rod of your strength out of Zion: rule you in the
middle of your enemies.
4 The LORD has sworn, and will not repent, You are a priest for ever after
the order of Melchizedek.
Pr 30:4 Who has ascended up into heaven, or descended? who has gathered the
wind in his fists? who has bound the waters in a garment? who has
established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his
son’s name, if you can tell?
5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield to them that put their trust in
him.
