I sent the following article to a few newspapers. The topic is the decline in the birth rate and the influence of the media on it.

The influence of the media on the birth rate

Recently, there has been concern about the birth rate, which has decreased considerably (E.g. ESS editorial 19.8: "Child loss became a permanent phenomenon"). Last year, fewer children were born in Finland than at any time since 1836.

What causes this phenomenon? Of course, there are various reasons for that, but one of the most important reasons is the media's activities. For decades, the media has been promoting the possibility of abortion as a human right, that is, you can get rid of a child if the parents don't want a child. On the other hand, if the children's right to live has been defended, it has been viewed in a negative light. I consider the creation of such an attitude atmosphere to be the biggest reason why children are killed and not welcomed. As a result, Finland is also missing an estimated million people, if aborted children and their possible descendants are taken into account. This has affected the distortion of the population pyramid and that Finland is going into debt because the working class is decreasing in number all the time. It is absolutely certain that if the media's actions had been the opposite and there had been a negative attitude towards abortion, this would have contributed to reducing the number of abortions. More children would have been born because abortion would have been considered morally wrong, which it is, and because parents would have been encouraged to accept children already conceived.

I see the current situation as the same as in antiquity. Then newborn children, usually girls, were abandoned because they were not wanted. This cruel custom was abandoned when Christianity spread. However, modern abortion practices do not differ much from this ancient custom. Aborted children are smaller than newborns, but they are still human because they have the same body parts as newborns: eyes, mouth, hands, feet...
