THE BODY OF RESURECTION
Lu 24:36 And as they thus spoke, Jesus himself stood in the middle of them,
and said to them, Peace be to you.
37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a
spirit.
38 And he said to them, Why are you troubled? and why do thoughts arise in
your hearts?
39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for
a spirit has not flesh and bones, as you see me have.
40 And when he had thus spoken, he showed them his hands and his feet.
41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said to them,
Have you here any meat?
42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43 And he took it, and did eat before them.
Joh 20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week,
when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the
Jews, came Jesus and stood in the middle, and said to them, Peace be to you.
20 And when he had so said, he showed to them his hands and his side. Then
were the disciples glad, when they saw the LORD.
24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when
Jesus came.
25 The other disciples therefore said to him, We have seen the LORD. But he
said to them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and
put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side,
I will not believe.
26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with
them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the middle, and
said, Peace be to you.
27 Then said he to Thomas, Reach here your finger, and behold my hands; and
reach here your hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but
believing.
28 And Thomas answered and said to him, My LORD and my God.
1 Cor 15:35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what
body do they come?
36 You fool, that which you sow is not quickened, except it die:
37 And that which you sow, you sow not that body that shall be, but bore
grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
38 But God gives it a body as it has pleased him, and to every seed his own
body.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men,
another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of
the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another
glory of the stars: for one star differs from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is
raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it
is raised in power:
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a
natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the
heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the
image of the heavenly.
Php 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from where also we look for the
Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like to his
glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue
all things to himself.
