SEEING OF GOD
Joh 1:18 No man has seen God at any time, the only begotten Son,
which is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.
5:37 And the Father himself, which has sent me, has borne witness of me. You
have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
38 And you have not his word abiding in you: for whom he has sent, him you
believe not.
6:46 Not that any man has seen the Father, save he which is of God, he has
seen the Father.
1 Tim 6:15 Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and
only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
16 Who only has immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach
to; whom no man has seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power
everlasting. Amen.
1 Joh 4:12 No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another,
God dwells in us, and his love is perfected in us.
Gen 32:24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him
until the breaking of the day.
25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow
of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he
wrestled with him.
26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaks. And he said, I will not let
you go, except you bless me.
27 And he said to him, What is your name? And he said, Jacob.
28 And he said, Your name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as
a prince have you power with God and with men, and have prevailed.
29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray you, your name. And he
said, Why is it that you do ask after my name? And he blessed him there.
30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face
to face, and my life is preserved.
Ex 24:1 And he said to Moses, Come up to the LORD, you, and Aaron,
Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship you afar
off.
2 And Moses alone shall come near the LORD: but they shall not come near;
neither shall the people go up with him.
3 And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the
judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the
words which the LORD has said will we do.
9 Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders
of Israel:
10 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a
paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his
clearness.
11 And on the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also
they saw God, and did eat and drink.
12 And the LORD said to Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there:
and I will give you tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I
have written; that you may teach them.
13 And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the
mount of God.
14 And he said to the elders, Tarry you here for us, until we come again to
you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to
do, let him come to them.
15 And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount.
16 And the glory of the LORD stayed on mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it
six days: and the seventh day he called to Moses out of the middle of the
cloud.
17 And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top
of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.
18 And Moses went into the middle of the cloud, and got him up into the
mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.
33:11 And the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his
friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son
of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
12 And Moses said to the LORD, See, you say to me, Bring up this people: and
you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, I
know you by name, and you have also found grace in my sight.
13 Now therefore, I pray you, if I have found grace in your sight, show me
now your way, that I may know you, that I may find grace in your sight: and
consider that this nation is your people.
14 And he said, My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.
15 And he said to him, If your presence go not with me, carry us not up
hence.
16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and your people have found
grace in your sight? is it not in that you go with us? so shall we be
separated, I and your people, from all the people that are on the face of
the earth.
17 And the LORD said to Moses, I will do this thing also that you have
spoken: for you have found grace in my sight, and I know you by name.
18 And he said, I beseech you, show me your glory.
19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will
proclaim the name of the LORD before you; and will be gracious to whom I
will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.
20 And he said, You can not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and
live.
21 And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and you shall stand on
a rock:
22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passes by, that I will put you
in a cleft of the rock, and will cover you with my hand while I pass by:
23 And I will take away my hand, and you shall see my back parts: but my
face shall not be seen.
Num 12:6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among
you, I the LORD will make myself known to him in a vision, and will speak to
him in a dream.
7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all my house.
8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark
speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: why then were you
not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
De 4:12 And the LORD spoke to you out of the middle of the fire: you
heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only you heard a voice.
13 And he declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform,
even ten commandments; and he wrote them on two tables of stone.
5:22 These words the LORD spoke to all your assembly in the mount out of the
middle of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great
voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and
delivered them to me.
23 And it came to pass, when you heard the voice out of the middle of the
darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that you came near to me,
even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
24 And you said, Behold, the LORD our God has showed us his glory and his
greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the middle of the fire: we
have seen this day that God does talk with man, and he lives.
25 Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if
we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.
26 For who is there of all flesh, that has heard the voice of the living God
speaking out of the middle of the fire, as we have, and lived?
